Just had a lovely half hour catch-up with one of the ladies at the supply agency that I'll be going back to in September - she left at the same time as me, and is now back in charge of primary school bookings, which is really nice, cos it will be like before I did my maternity cover. I'm going to pop in September 1st, so that I can sort out all of the paperwork etc, so may have to pop in and see some of my teaching friends down in Portsmouth whilst I'm there. Gunwharf Quays here I come! lol
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

I was brought up to call them breakfast, dinner 12 ish and tea 5 ish but I use lunch and dinner interchangeably - at school they call the meals school diners but eat them at lunch time...

That way my kids have learned all combinations - ie maiden - clothes horse - they know WE call it a maiden but others don't, sofa = settee = my furniture that I paid for and I can't afford to replace so get your ***** off it, lounge = living room = I have just cleaned in here so don't *******! Remote controls = zappers!

That sounds like me :rotfl::rotfl: Only remote controls are hoofer doofers (anyone else remember Telly Addicts?:o) or whatsits :rotfl::rotfl:

    Rigth..Very quick so typing FAASSSTT!!!!!!!

    1. .. DD4 had her physio appointment.. she is being seen by podiatry for a raise and also will be seeing the ortho guy for a raise to straighten her spine as due to her posture it is starting to curve and twist.
    2. The physio had avery quick look over Tiddles and said we are to ask for a referral to podiatry AND for physio as her ligaments are even looser than Jb's and there is a wonder she can walk and run the floppiness in her feet.. her feet fold upwards to about 30' angle to her shin.. and she can twist her lower leg from the knee and touch her nose with her foot!!
    3. Jb(DD4) is also to be referred BACK to orthopaedics so the surgeon can keep an eye on her spine, pelvis and leg development and endorse any moves made by pods and physio.
    4. .. Currently walllpapering the middle room.. DD1, DD3 and DD4 are cleaning living room. DD2 is doing the stairs and landing and hall. DS's 2 & 3 have the bathroom and toilet to do and Tiddles is undoing every thing they do!

tia.. fab news for your friend
Vanilla.. glad Bo is feeling better.. even if he is being a pest lol!!
Johanne.. lovely to see you are surviving hun.. you take care and we will see you back soon xxx

Where are you moving to SSL? and is it far?

Ah well, there's a story! I'm moving to the next street :o I'm mad, I know. I really like the area and its the same street as my aunt. I reckon I could have got a line of people like a giant pass the parcel, rather than get a delivery van :) However, because I couldnt sell, I've rented my current house out and I'm staying at my mums. I'm still in the same town, just a 10 mins drive away, instead of a 2 mins walk. I cant bear to think what it would be like moving miles and miles away xx

Oh she sounds just gorrrrgeous:D Dogs are so good at cheering people up; I was smiling just reading that!

    Snap!!! :D
  • Kaz - your woofie dog is just gorgeous! Is she still black? They are quite unusual...they are usually white and gold I think. Mad Harry is completely black.

G&B - I was thinking about you and LO today. Glad it went well :)

nicki - I call it a channel changer...no idea why

jo - good to see you honey

vanilla - I think I'd be tempted to tie Bo up. When do your PIL get back?

Valli - I was in the Bank of Scotland this morning and they are selling Dangermouse and Penfold badges to raise money for Diabetes UK.

MOAM - any news about the job yet?

Oh and the lovely prayer...the serenity prayer...I was told to take it down off the wall today as it may offend someone. I'm offended at being asked to take it down. Will speak to the union rep tomorrow as well as the grievance.

Oh you lucky, lucky thing! I have never moved this far (well except to Africa but that doesn't count, my parents did everything as I was only 12!)

 At the prayer thing

How do you all keep your houses running so smoothly and cleanly (sp?)? I just want to leave it all and take the kids out somewhere but then I come back to it and I'll end up having to decorate an entire house in a weekend

Oh god, sorry I sound so miserable :(

Welcome and let me cast aside the impression that you (and lots of others) have of us fly ladies - most of us don't manage to run ours homes or keep them clean hence why we are here for moral support and to know that we are not alone:rotfl:

I've not got any done today but did spend 4 hours drinking tea and eating cake with my friend whilst the kids screamed at each other and created more mess.

Tea is cooking - to me similar to Valli - brought up with breakfast, lunch and tea I use it as reference to children's evening meal which I now usually eat with them as OH eats at work but call it tea or dinner. I would have friends round for dinner not tea and middle of the day meal is always lunch. Super is for posh folk!

    Evening everyone.

Quick catch up before I go to work. Have done quite well flying today.

polka When I was little it was breakfast, dinner then tea then supper.

    jo1972 Welcome!

pigpen Glad your appointments went well.

Catch you all tomorrow. Hope I have a quiet night.
  • Re the Prayer

@@***@* skintscot lass what is the world coming to? Good on you speaking to the union - try talking some sense into them eh;)

Sorry Mrs V I missed it - where are you moving from and to? I also went to Africa - Namibia when I was 11 I think....

Hope the physio appointment went well for dd4, Pigpen.

Re the words, I've always used breakfast lunch and dinner but my 2 year old calls everything dinner so it was funny to be told off by my brother the other day when I asked the little one if he wanted dinner at 1 pm.!!! I must admit I don't like it when the girls say toilet as I prefer loo and I correct them but they tell me they have to say toilet at school!
