:T Well done Jo - you've done loads today! Now you know that if anyone knocks on the door, they'll think the rest of the house is as tidy as your hall.:D

Yes you definitely can give yourself permission to sit and watch tv guilt-free.

Living in a flat with all of the rooms off the hall, I have that problem. I now stand at the end of the hall, and look from an outsider's perspective at what mess I can see flowing out of the rooms and try to tackle that. For example, directly at the end of the hall, is my desk, which was really cluttered, and although it's not perfect now, my 2 hours decluttering of it (old uni stuff etc) the other day, it looks much better.

Where does all the dirt come from? Seriously, I've just emptied the hoover, and it was FULL of grey gunk. I live on my own, don't have any pets, and spend as little time in the house as possible in order to avoid it getting dirty, but there's STILL dirt in here. Surely if I've been religiously hoovering, sweeping and mopping for the past two weeks I should have got to the final layer by now? It looks clean in here...

That gives a great image :rotfl:

Unfortunately my lovely cleared and hoovered hall is now full of junk from the cupboard awaiting the dump tomorrow....still least I know I'll clear it tomorrow (job no. 1 on the list )

Greenbee, the dirt is amazing, I go through so many hoover bags! Just emptied out the cupboard that had not been looked in for years :o and it had an inch of dust on everything I reckon. Where the he11 did that come from, the door's not even been opened??

I've given up cleaning for now, got some diced pork out of the freezer and got to find something in the cupboard to turn it into something edible. I might shine my sink whilst it's cooking ;)
