Goodness me I have found the right place havent I?
Pigpen you just had me in tears you nasty goose. As for the othopedics, dont know if the others will agree but here goes... I only moved to the UK last year in June and being from where I was Id pretty much been neglected by the right proffessionals and so started getting into the system right off the bat.
First stop for me was making sure my GP was on my side, is on my side and stays on my side. If this is not the case, push until it is (I saw 4 before the one I have right now) then get into physio-thats the best way to get noticed by the orthopedics. The recommendation must come from either the gp or physio but Ive heard the ortho's have more faith in physio recommendations. I had six months of physio twice a week before orthotics. My "give" stretched by 3cm's on the left and 1 on the right (what a contest huh?) But because they were still uneven it was decided orthotics were best. Contrary to popular belief, "funny walking" is not necessarily indicative of podiatory (oh my spelling:eek: ) problems. My symptoms were have always been in the hip but the profs here got it right (mostly) by treating my achilles and my knees.
If you start with physio they give you the full work over and can even work out if its a back thing or other.
Hey and how about that-I was so busy shining my sink I didnt even realise there was an hhc going on-that would be my first one then I guess:j
Well, back to my flylady essays-this is all putting a whole new spin on things.
P.S. I intentionally left the kickboard to remind myself that Im not supposed to get it all perfect in one go.
Where would the fun be in that?0 -

Afternoon
Not done any flying today except one load of washing hung upstairs. It was my uncle's funeral this morning, which all went as well as these things do, but I don't feel like getting into anything, and I've still got to go to work tonight. At least it's stopped raining for a bit, it was that awful fine soaking rain this morning coming at you sideways because of the wind.
Time to get ready for work.0 -
Glad it went as well as it could Pollybear. Hope you are ok.:AThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Hugs to Denise.
Vanilla i'm glad Bo is recovering well.
Welcome back bonsibabe i'm sorry your still having a carp time but pleased for you about hubbies job.
Woohoo i actually managed to catch up.
I've had Ds1 on the phone he's not really enjoying himself at his Dad's. He's been there 10 days and has only left the house 3 times. His Dad forgot his Birthday in March:mad: ( even though it's been the same day for 11 years )and promised him a Wii when he went up there:rolleyes: . He got there and the Wii had apparently broke and been sent back. He has now promised him an XBox 360 before he leaves.
I'm very doubtful that he ever had a Wii and would be very surprised if he gets him an xbox. I'm so cross though how can you promise things to your child then just lie.   Theres only so much i can say whilst Ds1 is up there but i'm going to wipe the floor with his Dad when he gets back. I've told Ds1 to not get his hopes up and he said i know what he's like.
The thing is if he's skint then tell him so don't make false promises. Ds1 understands the value of money and there's no way i'd buy him something like that for his birthday. He would of been happy with a book and some attention from his Dad.
Sorry rant over i'm just so cross.0 -
Ah Holly
The sticks in the Pooh corner are working well for me :grouphug:0 -
Holly hugs for you and your DS
Polly be kind to yourself hun
Pigpen is your DD better when walking barefoot? Can she run? Can she touch her toes? I agree with Polkadot I snuck into the physio but had to go back to GP for referal for her to treat and then refer on to ortho - trouble is it all depends on who you get. For DS the trouble is physio signed him off as she had done what he was referred for and then there is no system in place for him to be followed up.
Tidying desk took longer than planned but I have done some of the paperwork rather than just re stack it.
Another HHc for me in the family room then on to teaThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Oh and incase we're all wondering why Im the last one to go to bed-We have new neighbours,Im getting ready to take them a nice big flask of coffee:rolleyes:Yes, they are moving in right now! There are about three kids riding up and down the street on their scooters and mum and dad are yelling at each other from inside the house to out at the van-not to mention the motorised hoist and the thumping of heavy appliances:eek:What on earth possesses people?
Did you really make them coffee polka, rather than chuck a bucket of water over them????? You are far nicer than me0
