I am also looking for the one that is often used when someone dies ... about not being dead but being in the next room waiting ... Do you know that one??
Toots xx
Hi Toots, glad you like it. There's this one
What is Death?
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without affect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.
All is well.

Is this the one Toots?
Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort
Without the ghost of a shadow in it
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolute unbroken continuity
What is death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you for an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost
One brief moment and all will be as it was before
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

sorry, I see TAG had already posted the poem, am enjoying browsing round poetry and quote sites now0 -
Sorry - had to go and pick up DS1 andd DS2 from cinema, so didn't finish answer.
Level 2 ish in the livingroom - doesn't look too bad, but skimped in areas! Having cleared junk off fireplace, realised how grubby it was, but only cleaned the most obvious bits...
Must go cook spaghetti for the boys, then get DS1 to pack ready for Reading, as he goes tomorrow morning.
Hugs for those flyladies not feeling fantastic today. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

Vanilla glad Bo is on the mend – he looks gorgeous if not a little sad. Hope the weather improves although I think that’s summer been and gone. Hope DS had a great birthday. And OMG what an awful thing for your neighbour to say
Dusty I’m also in the don’t get on with mother gang. Never have, we have never been close and she’s not someone I’d choose as a friend but she’s my mum and I’ll always love her.
Tia well done sorting out the coffee machine – true money saving
Mumof four77 Hope kids settled down now, it is frightening when they disappear like that. My DD is always disappearing but I don’t get the positive response afterwards like you did !
Hi DeniseNZ Sorry to hear about MIL, hope its not too serious
GnB That’s a good lot on ebay. As for burns the best thing is keep them open to the air IF you can keep it clean and dry, if not I have used special burns plasters which are like rubber and are really really good. They’re just like putting a piece of thick skin on the top of the burn until it heals.
Pigpen love the family comments. Glad the paint came out. Hope the RSI improves after the cake icing
FrankieM Hope DH improves quickly
MrsV that’s some round trip you did, hope you don’t have to do too many more
Hi Michelle sounds like a fab but busy time. Hope the finances don’t get too dire
Hypno06 well done on your list
Gingergirl thanks for the link to the Christmas plan, think I need to take a look at it
Boddy glad your mums ok, it must be hard for you tho
Jjef don’t worry about not doing anything – neither have I (since Saturday)
SSL Interested to hear what makes the neighbours Shih Tzu mad as we have one and she’s only 2 so I still have a lot of learning to do about both dogs and the breed
Bonsibabe welcome back hope it gets easier
Nicki – I thought the research might have been into the firemen
Polkadot – the new neighbours sound horrendous wish you luck with them
That’s it up to P16 post 318
OK so what have I been up to
Went to OH’s cousins party on Sunday reluctantly as left DS at home (he didn’t mind and knew it would cause more hassle not to go) and had a lovely time. Hadnt seen OH’s rellies for about 2 years and all his cousins and their wives and children were there which is the first time for about 5 years so it was lovely to catch up. Was asked why DS wasn’t there and so politely but diplomatically told them the truth and not the bull OH had been saying. OH and his cousins of course got completely bladdered which at least made for a quite drive home afterwards
Didn’t do any flying after work yesterday other than to cook tea as need to plan the camping trip in France after Eurodisney and we leave on Saturday. Have done no planning, shopping, or packing at all yet and think I need one of Michelles lists to set me on my way. Worst thing is I need to leave a list of stuff for OH to pack into the car as he’s not coming out until Tuesday.
Also went to put all my work clothes in TD last night and discovered it wont work but had been fine the night before so ended having clothes hanging round radiators to dry which is something I haven’t done in 20 years. My TD is my essential piece of equipment. Hopefully my dad will come round tonight and have a look so fingers crossed.
Oh updating a few more posts while at work on lunch
Up to page 18 post 347
Polkadot – that’s horrible your playdate cancelling like that. Hope you weren’t hurt in your fall
Pigpen just wanted to say I don’t have the answer to your Q about the walking but I think its shocking the orthopod didn’t want to know, its their job to sort out stuff like that. When I worked in an ortho dept, one of my consultants used to have a special childrens clinic every other week where he’d deal with issues like that.
Hugs for all those in sad corner today
Pollybear – hope uncles funeral went as well as can be expected
Sexymouse – that sounds just like my gran who was on her own until just before her 95th birthday, hope it pans out ok
Holly – That’s horrible for your DS, like you say its better they learn the truth
Ok so that’s up to date guess I better go and do some flying. as I have only cooked the tea since I’ve been in – toad in the hole in the Remoska which was lovely especially as it came out ok and I have never been able to cook Yorky puds properly.
Wish me luck I’ve loads to do and no-one to help as OH is still setting up his new laptop (having done NOTHING else today) which he has been doing since he got it last week.

Wow Kaz that was some post!
Sadly, after spending the last 2 days packing I think we will need to make the trip again and probably hire a van this time as there is (as usual) more than I thought.
Despite decluttering for the last 4 months, there is quite a bit of stuff to take even though there is no furniture to go. With only a week to go I just don't have time to make a decision on every item in the house; DH would just throw it all out, but there are boxes of photographs, irreplaceable books, baking stuff, kitchenware, pictures, special keepsakes, good towels and bedding, etc. etc. etc.
I know I won't need all of this in the rented house, but a lot of it I will (the pans there are awful for instance, and we need bedding and towels). I also need some of my own 'stuff' around me to feel comfortable IYKWIM.
So I have (in my opinion:rolleyes: ) got the packing down to a bare minimum but it seems a lot when I have been putting it into boxes.
Oh, I don't know. I think I am just feeling a bit overwhelmed today. Does anyone have any good tips?
Some of you have way more serious stuff going on so I am feeling a bit patheticI love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. Douglas Adams0
