Hello all, welcome newbies
No flying done today as went on trip to shopping village (Oswaldtwistle Mills) and trip down memory lane, showing kids where we, and their ancestors lived in Ossy and Blackburn. Had a steak pudding (yum) and brought home delicacies such as coltsfoot rock, sarsaparilla tablets (sweeties) and Lancashire cheese.
Thankyou for comments - you enter the twilight zone when you comment on peoples families because you just don't know what the background is. I'll leave it there!
Bought some fabric so have recovered DDs home made headboard now it's blue and matches her room - it was covered in fabric which matched her old lilac curtains so much better now. Took about half an hour! Fabric was £1:money:
Will fly tomorrow - I had better! House is a (bit of a) mess and mondays list ***whispers***is still not done!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Beggar it, I'm finishing for the night and opening a bottle of wine. Anyone care to join me?:D :beer:I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. Douglas Adams0

Hugs all round tonight - a lot going on for lots of you at the moment and I'm sorry I haven't done a more detailed post but I've come in from swimming, done the tea, got the kids in bed and now I'm ready for bed myself as it was 3am when I got woken up by DH's alarm.
I'll try and catch up properly tomorrow.

Mrs V I've just poured myself the last glass from Sunday's bottle.
Did really well with the family room in the end - just one cupboard left to go. DS3 played with lots he has not had out in a while and has provided me with another pile of toys/books/videos he nolonger want - I think I'll do what I did in the spring and put some on ebay/do the NCT sale (that makes me think of Jill - hope you are well) and then maybe have a toy stall at the school craft fayre.
Pooh - I agree with you about adult company - I felt better yesterday after my friend came by for a cuppa and I have anothe friend coming tomorrow afternoon.
That is nearly it for the day just going to put a couple more bits away in the family room and put the washing on.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I saw that one a mile away!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Unfortunately, I just dont have the time or energy for an animal. Its fine to borrow the neighbour's dogs, but tonight for example, I was just too knackered to go for a walk.0 -
Unfortunately there is just my Mum and her sister, and my Nan fell out with my aunt years ago, and they don't speak. I spoke to my Nan for the first time in over a year last week, as I have deliberately avoided her, as we really don't get on and never have as I've always had very different views on things to her and have always stood up for my beliefs, which she didn't like. She is prone to making rude comments completely unprovoked eg. the other day my Mum went round, and my Nan said to her "you've got fat arms!"
It doesn't help that my Mum has a lot of stress at home too, as my Dad is an alcoholic. I moved out as soon as could when I was younger, cos I didn't get on with my sister or my Mum, but luckily my Mum and I get on better now, although I could never live with her!
Oh dear...I think its something about their ages. My Nana is 88 and my BF's Nan is 88 next week. My Nana's not so bad to me, but then I'm pretty much her favourite cos I dont answer back! But BF's Nan is a nightmare...she's always going on at me to get BF to propose and drag him along to a jewellers. She was totally disgusted at my lovely birthday present, an internet radio which I was thrilled at, 'he should have got you a bloody ring' And the way she speaks to BF's Mum (her daughter), BF's sister and BF is just awful. Strangely enough, I do answer her back so she's not so bad with me. Its good that you and your mum get on better now. I think that often happens. Mind you, a few flyladies were just saying last week how they dont get on with their mums.0 -

Well, I think lack of attention and not enough walkingHe goes berserk when I go in for him. DD took him out on Sunday and he just about hyperventilated. He just loves going out for walks and for a little dog, just about drags me down the road. I'm a big girl, thats quite an achievement! I just love him to bits and plan to dognap him. BF reckons I'll end up with him anyway and I dont think the kids are that interested in him...he was bought for the family's DD. I've never seen her walk him. The only thing that puts me off is my work. Once I'm back full time, I'll be away from the house from 7am to 5pm and I dont think its fair. DD promises she'll go home at lunchtime every day but I'm not convinced. Can you post a pic of your gorgeous woofy dog? What made you decide on a shih tzu?

Very very tempting, but I'll say no
I cant even give you any advice on the moving, and I'm probably the last one to do it. Unless one of the newbies has? I cant believe how much carp I have and how much carp I put into storage. I get the keys to my new place on 29th Aug. What about you?0 -

Got the keys to our new place last week, but as it is 400 miles away can't pop round with a few boxes whenever!
We complete here on the 27th so have to drop the keys off at the estate agents first thing then drive up with the dog. This means by Tuesday we must be down to the bare minimum; what's left must fit in the back of the car on Wednesday morning :eek:I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. You have my complete sympathy! Every time I do this, I say never again, but this time really is the last :rolleyes:0
