    Afternoon ladies!

Just got back from going out unexpectedly with my mother. It's the last day of her holiday so she took me out for a cup of tea and a piece of cake. She also offloaded some of her stresses to me, which I hope helped her a bit. She is really struggling to look after my grandmother, who is very selfish and prone to tantrums. She is going to be 91 in December, and has been living on her own now for about 5 years since my grandfather passed away. My Mum is worried that she shouldn't be living on her own any more, as she keeps doing things like leaving the gas on, and the tap running, and also can't hear very well. My Mum thinks that it may be a good idea to find her a flat to live in, but I'm sure that she won't hear of anything of the sort, as she is very stubborn, and live-in help probably wouldn't stay around too long with her moods.

Oh well, enough talking about my Nana. Let's talk about something more positive:

On the quest to do my final task (27 fling boogie) I was trying to think of what I could fling, and thought I'd go through my bra drawer as there are loads of bras that I don't wear any more. I threw out 6 that were past it, and put 9 that I just grew out of in my carboot stuff in my car. We are hoping to do a carboot on Bank Holiday Monday, so I hope the weather is ok for us. I have loads of clothes to get rid of (mine and my family's), and OH could do with getting rid of a lot of stuff too. So ... that makes 15 things, plus I threw out about 5 other things in my miscellaneous drawer in the bedroom, so that makes 20 - just 7 more to go (knicker drawer maybe?). I'm on the hunt.

    sexymouse xx

PS I was even more sad than just going through them - my bras are now colour coordinated - all pinks together, blues together, strapless together, crop tops for sports on top etc. :)
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

SSC No, I didnt really. I wanted to so I could tell them off but it woke DH up too and so he stopped me, saying so far everyone in the neighbourhood likes me (we only moved in May) and he'd prefer to keep it that way.:( He was that serious he hid away my dressing gown:)

Dustykitten where do you live? Were you referred to Orthotics? If not ask to be referred to physio again if need be.
Something I never knew (I had my DS around to woo my therapist and she whispered quietly in my ear) is that you can ask the physio not to discharge you at least until a three month follow up with them. They check your new measurements etc against the last ones they took before you stopped treatment. Basically it gives them an indication of whether it is a degenerative problem (particularly good for the little ones).
They dont advertise it but you can ask-and it can be taken up to the head of the department.

And as for the rest of it-DH is on earlies today and I didnt realise it. He just called to let me know he's on his way home so this will probably be my last post until just before bedtime.

Right I've just found 7 thongs and knickers that actually match the bras, and put them with the carboot stuff - they've all been washed or never worn - are you allowed to sell knickers at carboots? :oNever done one before.

Yes. But unless they are BMWT I doubt you'd sell em.

Mind you, you never know these days.

  • Hi all! Am now sitting down nursing large cup of tea after the supermarket shop! What a nightmare - remind me NOT to forget to book my online slot again in the school holidays!

Hugs to Pollybear, sexymouse, and hollyh (plus anyone else in need).

Dustykitten - just wondered where your fab shoe shop is in Herts?? Always on the look out for decent places for kids shoes!

OK - am feeling calmer now - ready to face cooking tea. See you later!

  • Was someone doing Nutracheck? I just started yesterday :)

Work was better today or maybe I'm feeling better. My boss left me alone, so that was good. I still dont have access to the systems I need. How long do we think it'll take for her to organise that? She had a month's notice that I was starting back yesterday! Obviously in the 'too difficult' box  Oh, and the fridge was an absolute disgrace...it hasnt been cleaned in the 6 months I was off. I soon sorted that out with my stardrops ;) I cant even talk about the dead flaky skin on the computer keyboard

DD is having a sleepover at my aunts, so I'll have an early night. I was thinking about taking the neighbour's dog out, but I'm feeling quite tired. DD is also hassling me about getting a puppy. My aunt and cousin work at a kennels and there is an 8 week old collie that needs a home. They are ganging up on me.

sexymouse - it must be so draining for your mum. Are there any other family members that could help out?

holly - I dont blame you for being cross. When DD came back from 6 weeks in Oz with my parents, her dad didnt even phone to find out when she was going over to theirs. Why cant they see the only one(s) they are letting down are the kid(s) themselves???

polly - hope you are feeling better

re the babies/how many children etc...like nicki, everyone asked me when I was having my next one. Very hurtful when I would love another baby, but the opportunity has never occured. However, I havent given up hope yet :)

anyhoo...time for a wee lie down and read a little bit of my book xx

Unfortunately there is just my Mum and her sister, and my Nan fell out with my aunt years ago, and they don't speak. I spoke to my Nan for the first time in over a year last week, as I have deliberately avoided her, as we really don't get on and never have as I've always had very different views on things to her and have always stood up for my beliefs, which she didn't like. She is prone to making rude comments completely unprovoked eg. the other day my Mum went round, and my Nan said to her "you've got fat arms!"

It doesn't help that my Mum has a lot of stress at home too, as my Dad is an alcoholic. I moved out as soon as could when I was younger, cos I didn't get on with my sister or my Mum, but luckily my Mum and I get on better now, although I could never live with her!

Would you not prefer a nice rabbit?;) Much less hassle than a puppy, very friendly and good with kids.
