Hi Jo - think you have the "nice" reasons to give to your friend, regarding the claiming tax credits/vouchers thing - as she is not registered you cannot use her anymore. Saves you having to tell the real reasons anyway. I have not used a childminder before but have seen lots doing the nursery runs, kind of knew from that who I would not want looking after the girls. Trouble is all the good ones are booked. Thankfully for me its only till DD2 starts full-time school on 29th Sept then she can go to the after school club.

Not sure how this whole working mon - fri thing is gonna work out but got to give it a go. I am really excited about this job its just all the other tripe that goes with it:rolleyes:.

How long have you been staying at home (I presume that's what you've been doing!). It is hard getting back into the 9-5 at first but it does have it's benefits, not just the financial ones...but you get a bit of independence back. What's the job you've got?

Finding a good CM is an absolute nightmare, especially if you have more than one child to find a space for. Unfortunately as I work full-time, I don't do the school run and don't know anyone up at the school, ie mums and dads that are a great source when trying to find childcare.

Yes I think you're right, definately put the onus on the child tax credit and childcare vouchers when telling the CM that I can't use her anymore...also the thing is, I'm actually paying her the same as I was paying my previous registered childminder, so it's not going to cost me any extra money either!

Right, I'd better get a wriggle on, gotta get my mum to Mr T's, she doesn't like going too late cos they run out of stuff....apparently  (although that's when the reduced section is full )

    Serena, what's happening? x

    xx

serena - so glad they found him, let us know how you got on picking him up. hugs

AnW'smum - lovely to see you back. I was glued to the olympics yesterday. I actually went to the 96 Olympics in Atlanta - was fab. we'll probably have left london by 2012 but a lot of the construction for the games is on my 'patch' at work.

went to church this am for the first time since easter (had some probs with the one i used to work for and now they're sorted i finally feel able to go again.). DH was studying and i thought why not!? We're off to in laws for lunch in half an hour so that will save cooking. Must find my list though as have no idea how far I am with it.
