Trying not to panic here. DS1 rang about 9am sounded very disorientated and paranoid. He's walking somewhere, doesn't know where. I couldn't persuade him to go back towards the festival. I've been on the phone constantly trying to get him to tell me where he is, and have finally rung the police. He's just given me a streetname, so hopefully someone will find him soon. Just waiting for five or ten minutes before ringing him again. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0

Morning all
Lil_me, I didn't think of asking for a stock one. We bought a 3 piece from a charity shop once, it was in pristine condition, apparently it was taken from a very large house down the road in Chigwell where all the professional footballers live. We liked it but I don't think anyone else did....it was black with birds of paradise all over it!! It was handmade and fantastic quality, it looked like no-one had ever sat in it....you should of seen the neighbours faces when they were bringing it in though, it was a bit lary (sp?).....£100 + £10 delivery
Shell2001, how did you go about finding a childminder? I've got childminding issues at the moment and need a new one to take my DS to school and pick him up and keep him for just half hour after school, and have my DD all morning then take her to nursery in the afternoon for 2 hours and pick her up again. Problem that I'm having is that my one is not registered and she's a friend. NEVER MIX BUSINESS AND PLEASURE!! I never had problems with my previous 2 childminders as they were registered and you know what's what. This one is mucking me about no end, plus she's starting to hang around with another woman up the road that I'm not too keen on. She is very loud and agressive and has her nose in everyone's business and b1tches about everyone behind their backs. I can't be bothered with all that carp and and I don't want my kids mixing with her. It's going to be VERY awkward telling my CM that I don't want to use her anymore, but also, if I have a registered CM then I'd be able to claim the childcare element of child tax credit and OH would be able to get childcare vouchers through his work, I might even be able to get them through mine.....I shall be here looking for advice very soon on how to break the news to her
Serena, I hope everything is ok, god how worrying, keep us updated.
Right, gotta get ready to go out. My washing machine conked out last night and I have to go to the launderette with 6 blackbags of washing  plus it's raining here so it'll probably be really busy in there.
Apart from that....
S/S bathroom & toilet
S/S kitchen
Trudge down the launderette
Take mum to Mr T's and get her shopping
Come home and write lists of all the things I need to do next week
Cook roast
Sit down and eat chocolate
I hope you all have a good Sunday, speak to you all later

I am sooo cold. I had 2 blankets on my bed last night on top of the quilt  I couldn't bring myself to put the heater on in my room when there was only me in and I'd cook unless I left my bedroom door or window open, which would be wasting money.
I've got lots of internet based work to do today and I have studying to do.... just can't decide whether to stay home or go out somewhere to study so I can have noise etc. Trouble is that its the Matthew Street Festival this weekend so pubs in town (where I would prefer to go) are heaving and I'm not exactly sure about the safety of taking my laptop with me to do the work on
Oh well, off to do some more. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Hi Jo - think you have the "nice" reasons to give to your friend, regarding the claiming tax credits/vouchers thing - as she is not registered you cannot use her anymore. Saves you having to tell the real reasons anyway. I have not used a childminder before but have seen lots doing the nursery runs, kind of knew from that who I would not want looking after the girls. Trouble is all the good ones are booked. Thankfully for me its only till DD2 starts full-time school on 29th Sept then she can go to the after school club.
Not sure how this whole working mon - fri thing is gonna work out but got to give it a go. I am really excited about this job its just all the other tripe that goes with it:rolleyes: .
Serena - any news yet?0 -
Well my plan for today is to clean up the appalling mess in the kitchen and get my damnable case studies finished (they're very close now)
