Well I have never watched Shameless and don't bother with Hell's Kitchen so I have no idea what this chappy is like:rolleyes:

I went out today to collect my new business cards and if I say so myself they are rather swanky far better than the Vistaprint ones:D My 'new' chap is coming to see me on Monday as he has a small present for me:j he can't stay long though as he has a date with his garage, its needs cleaning out so that the wall insulation men can insulate the wall (I guess that the garage is attached to the house:rolleyes:).

I was watching our local news on Wednesday night and they were talking to someone from Worcester Cathedral who was saying that they would be ringing a peal yesterday - the bells would also be rung for a sombre occasion too, the funeral of the co-pilot of that helicopter that crashed in the North Sea. I had forgotten that Worcester Cathedral's bells are the best in the country and that bellringers are clamouring to ring them. Its a very long time since I rang a bell..I have probably forgotten how to do it:rolleyes: I used to ring the bells at St Johns Church in Bromsgrove but that was back in the 70's:eek: (the 1970s not the 1870s either Strumps:eek:)

The items which haven't sold I have relisted. More items are due to finish tomorrow and Sunday and I am aiming to find at least another 5 items over the weekend.:j

    Aha, this makes sense now!
I must say, it's lovely when i can hear the village bells being played from my house :D
And well done for the celeb spot! The only one I have ever had is seeing Moira Stewart waiting for the bus (how MSE of her!) at KingsX last month...
Mrs. P, I must say i am jealous of your ebay success! I have a load of books on amazon atm which just aren't selling (frustrating!) Though i did manage to claim £5 from lightspeed surveys yesterday, which helps :D
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend planned

    Hi all

I managed an NSD on Sunday as well as today so now I am past the limit of 8:j Strumps, you and I have been signed up for 8 in May too - someone just started the May thread and copied and pasted the amounts from this month.

Today, is my official day as a self employed person, already I have had to call the council about my HB and now they are saying they want audited accounts when I dont legally have to have my accounts audited:rolleyes: Well, they are not getting my hands on my original accounts, they can have a copy of them.

Hope you all had a good weekend - hope you had a good dinner out with OH?:D

I did have a good dinner out with OH. We went to the Assheton Arms in Downham, near Clitheroe, which is one of my fave places to go and eat.

OH had Black Pudding for starter and Monkfish in a cream and mushroom sauce for main; I had Thai Cod Fishcake with Sweet Chillies for starter and Braised Lamb Shank, in a rosemary and mint gravy with petits pois. It was delish and he paid for it all!!!

Then we drove back along the foot of Pendle Hill, inthe twilight. We saw an owl sitting on a gate post, and a couple of bunnies. No foxes or deer though, which we see quite regularly. I love living in Nelson!

Glad to see that my spends are now averaging out at below £20 / day. Off to get a haircult this lunch time in readiness for my holiday on Thursday. I am travelling to stay with my friend Paul in Torquay and we will be doing 6 days of pealringing in Devon. I really enjoy this annual break, as a lot of my ringing friends from London go, and the company is wicked. I must remember to update my SATNAV with the new travel info module!

OH spent £400 on new suits yesterday!

    Strumps

Confession time: i spent £619 on a macbook yesterday  but it's fine, it was budgeted for!
Strumpet: I love it when you spot cute animals on a drive/walk, though i'm rather disappointed not to have seen any bunnies about my village this year ... i suppose that's how bunnies are though, 1 year tons, the next none...shame

I had a huge baking sesh with The Mother on sunday: I tweaked the apple cake recipe and used rhubarb instead (we have *so* much!) , this definitely works!
Also made three rhubarb crumbles for the freezer, and shall make some rhubarb vodka when i return this weekend. I am quite clearly the coolest 21 year old around ;)

    Yum...lamb shank - my favourite.

Despite 3 large poplar trees being chopped down near me I am pleased to say that the owl has returned although I have yet to see him - I hear him too whit whooing at night:cool:

Today is quite a momentus day for me - I went to the jobcentre...to sign off:j my New Deal advisor had prepared a new signing on form for me but I said that I was going it alone, god I'd never get a job in this climate and Birmingham apparently is the worst area in the UK for unemployment:rolleyes:

£400 on suits isnt a lot when you think about it Strumps - anyway when he comes to Brum he should hit the shops here because Kensington Freak which sells nice suits is closing down (probably gone by now though). I do know that it costs £600 for a handmade suit so £400 on a couple of suits doesnt sound too bad to me.

Well, I had best crack on, I have just changed out oif my business suit (my M&S one) and put my trackies on as I am off out for a walk up to the post office to send some paperwork to my accountant.

MMmmmm rhubarb - I can eat that raw:D

I hear the council have chopped down the palm trees in Torquay because they can harbour thieves and muggers (although why one of them would bother climbing a tree I have no idea)

I have paid some bills today (I may well have paid them twice - I have gotten confuddled:eek:). I spent 67p on a first class stamp at the postoffice (large letter) and I nuked some boiled beef n carrots (some of the cheapo whoopsie shelf brisket I picked up in Tesco) that I found in the fridge with the left over spuds (I always cook too many)..yum. I have also registered for two networking events with the chamber of commerce - one is free but the other is for women only and is in the Radisson SAS hotel in Bham - no need to take my car, the bus stop is right outside:rotfl: That one cost me £28.75 but I will claim it from the business.:D

Have been busy speaking to several nice men on the phone - one of whom was visiting my neck of the woods at the weekend (his mum lives round the corner from me)..I am signing up for some professional indemnity insurance which is much needed:j Yet more expense:rolleyes:

Sorry to have hijacked your thread Strumps but I wanted to keep you updated on the gossip. Thanks for the sticky bun by the way, I flicked the dust off it, its a bit stale but still edible:D

And quite clearly soon to be the drunkest!

As for bunnies, I go to Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel for a holiday each year and the first year we went the bunnies were everywhere as far as the eye could see. They used to part like a big wave as you walked through the middle of them. No natural predators, save for the odd lost hawk! The following year, mixy had got them all and I didn't see a single one! It was really sad.

I'm on holiday as of 5pm today - YIPPEE!!! Going to Devon!
