xmas pressie for someone who wants it!!
hate people like that! I've had friends like that who stand you up and its so frustrating, you start thinking about everything you could have done in the time you've been waiting.
grrr! whats his excuse then? men always come up with stupid excuses for being late!

No excuse given Jill - the little weasel hasn't bothered to return any of my calls:mad:
Anyway I may just offer this beautiful tie to Strumps because I know that he appreciates quality and he's a man's man:D0 -

H - you could always Ebay it.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Ha ha!
I ate the first half on Wednesday night - portion control!!!!!!;)
Thanks for the offer of the tie Horace but I rarely wear them. Could you give it to OH?
And don't talk to me about friends who stand you up - I have a mate who is supposed to be one of my bestest and he has a really annoying habit of saying "Can I let you know?" when you ask him to come to dinner or go out into town etc. Then one day before, when he's still not called to let me know, I have to ring him to get an answer so I can make arrangements and he says something like "Oh sorry, yeah, I was going to ring you - do you mind if we do it another time, only I'm not feeling too well / said I'd do something else with someone else and can't go back on it now....":wall: :wall: :wall:
What he really means is, he was waiting to see if he got a better offer. It f*cks me off big time. I wish he'd just say no and then at least I could make other plans.
Cross as I would have had a no spend day yesterday if I hadn't paid 20p to park while I popped into the bank to pay in OH's rent!
Night in tonight with OH - he's driving back from London as we speak. He stayed in London last night. I asked him what he'd done in the evening and he said he'd been trolling round the shops trying on PVC and rubber pants. He says it's to help him grip the pole when he's doing his pole dancing stuff. Should I believe this I wonder, or is it a fetish I have yet to be informed about!!!!!!:shocked:NIL ILLEGITIMUS CARBORUNDUM!Nov Grocery Challenge: £0.00 / £150.00

He never said he had but maybe it's a surprise?!?!
Started up my accounts spreadsheet again last night. New Year = New start etc. Hopefully I can engineer it so that it's comprehensive enough to be useful but not over-engineered to the point of being a chore to fill in. It's a fine line!!!
Got a shock before. I committed the cardinal sin of MSEing. My friend bought his girlfriend a WiiFit for Christmas for £93.99 and used the company's account with the supplier to purchase it for ease. Obviously it's not a company purchase so he said he'd pay for it. He gave me the £93.99 in cash and I said I'd pay the bill on my credit card and then pay the cash off the card. Simple!!!
Only I forgot to pay the invoice on the card and (sin coming up) forgot the cash was earmarked, and it has "disappeared" into everyday spends!!! Now I have just paid the bill on the credit card after the supplier chased work for it, and I now have to find the £93.99 to pay off the card. All this in the month I am trying to scrape cash together to pay off the OD before Halifax start charging me £1 a day on the overdraft.
Stupid stupid boy!!!!
I may have to "raid" my freezer fund! I REFUSE to pay £1 a day!!!! Can't cancel until 09/02/2009 or I'll lose my cashback accrued on the account.
Oh for a quiet life!!!
Still, I just passed a billing period on the credit card so it will not appear on my statement until 05/02/2009 so I have a month to work out how I'm going to sort it!
Perhaps bank of OH could help as he's due to pay anouther rent payment on 01/02/2009.

Ohh Strumpet - I do sympathise with you - its easily done. I have many times been in that sort of situation where someone has given me money to pay for something else (or give to someone else). Time slips by and the next thing its gone!!Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Hi guys!
I have just organised an increase in facility on my Lloyds TSB overdraft from £500 to £1000 so I can now transfer the overdraft from Halifax to Lloyds and avoid their £1/day charge. I have to answer loads of questions over the telephone after my online application was referred but they came good and changed it straightaway. This is very good for Lloyds who I find can be a bit stuffy about these things sometimes. I've only banked with them for 16 years and have only ever once gone overdrawn without authority and that was only because my salary was paid late one month. Anyway - crisis averted for 6 months anyway; I deliberately set a time limit so there's a deadline to help me pay it off once and for all!!!
So now I can receive the cashback from Halifax and then decide whether to close ALL my accounts with them as punishment for their inability to "accurately define and cater for my financial needs"!!!
Having said all that, my Halifax CC stooze is supposed to come to an end this month but they have extended my 0% deal on purchases until 31/03/2009 so maybe they are not all bad! This should mean I can keep the £3800 I have in my ISA until April and so get the full whack of interest on it. (However, at a measly 3%, am I bothered?).
And they re about to be absorbed by Lloyds anyway so maybe they'll get better at being a nice bank!
Got the electrician's bill for the work I had done before Christmas if you remember - less than I thought but still £287.50!!!! Ouch!!!
£2 coin freezer fund now standing at £92!
Feeling a bit happier about my finances at the moment but ask me again after a visit to Tesco this evening!!!
