Great to see you back again - I thought you'd left us all for good.
How are things with you? Feeling more positive these days? I know you had a period where you were up against it and feeling a bit down.

Yes - am a bit of a rollercoaster type personality I think - either up or down with a lot of squealing in between! :o:D

Am feeling more positive and motivated now - and have started a new diary to match. Next step - redo budget!

Strumpet excellent news on OH moving in this time next week (and yes, point himself in the direction of the marigolds and Fairy liquid!)

Good call on the "Get back on Track" thread Mizmir! Do you want to set it up? or shall I?

Just wanted to say welcome back Mizmir - we've missed you.

Thanks to being made to feel thoroughly guilty by Strumpet's activity and my own inactivity I have now finished my table (I only sanded the top because the rest of it is alright). I nipped out this morning and bought a small tin of Ronseal Satin Finish varnish in dark oak (the table has some dark stained bits and I cannot get them out with sandpaper), the varnish dries in 20 minutes and I haven't long put the second coat on and it looks fab-you-luss (to quote Craig Revel-Horwood).:D

Hi Strumpet - glad to hear OH is moving in soon. is the bedroom finished now?

Had some fantastic news today - DH has had a £2,000 pay rise (backdated to April). Its come as a complete bolt from the blue:j Am so glad as last night I was panicking slightly at joining the pay off £10K by next Christmas challenge - now I'm sure that target will be far more realistic.

The money goes into the bank tomorrow and then I'll be straight online and pay some off my Egg credit card as that one is my only card without a 0% interest.

Am going to turn the house upside down at the weekend and try and find at least 5 more items I can sell on Ebay. I've decided to go for the minimalist look in my house!!

    Horace:

Did it do what it said on the tin?

    Mrs P:

Bedroom is done except for curtain rail to go up and new light fitting to be installed (Electrician is coming round tomorrow afternoon to do this and several other jobs). Curtain rail is more difficult as, because the bathroom has been widened, the wall of the bedroom now comes right up to the window frame, so any curtain rails with fancy ends, have to be adapted so that only one end is fancy and the other is not, in order that it will fit. Very complicated!!!

I'm off to graffitti all over Mizmir's new diary MWAHH HA HA HA HAAAA!!!!!!

Thank you Dragon - fingers crossed that it stays that way!

Strumpet, we had to do the same in the spare room with the curtain pole - one end is against the wall and the other end fancy! I hated it at first, but now I just don't notice it.

It most certainly did - first coat dried within 20 minutes and the second coat has now dried. I lurve Ronseal - now I am thinking about getting some Nitromores and getting the layers of paint off my bentwood chairs (old chairs which my mum painted a deep orange back in the 1970's:eek: ) and giving them the varnish treatment.

Must fly I have assignments to do, calls to make and bills to pay:rolleyes:

I am not going to be here over the weekend so I will let you share my virtual birthday cake (I shall have plenty of candles on it - probably enough to burn the place down:eek: )

    :bdaycake:

    Have a fab weekend.
