Ah if you put it like that Strumps then £4 for coffee isnt bad. Is your OH any good at putting up pictures? If so, send him down to me as I need someone to hang up some pics for me (no good asking my OH because he thinks he has done enough handywork - he has a tendency to not finish jobs either:rolleyes: ).
I know that you are not a monk but everytime I see the Mars advert with the bellringing monks I think of you:rotfl: I think you should go out on the razzle tonight because you would be a very dull boy if it was all work and no play:D .
I am not up to much this weekend - OH is returning:rolleyes: Don't get me wrong I love him to bits but...he wants me to give up my weekend which I refuse to do - tomorrow I am joining the rest of the flying squad to shove conservative newsletters through letterboxes in exchange for a free lunch and on Sunday I really must go and see my parents - I can go now that I am totally free of cold and the motor racing season has finished (I don't want to kill my dad off you see because congestive heart failure and the flu don't mix).
Have fun tonight and try not to stress too much over your exams - trust me, you will be fine.
Love Horace

And to think that there are STILL members of my family that tell me he's just stringing me along and is not interested in moving in!
I had friends saying that about me & DH, when I moved down South. My friends reckoned I'd be back up North asking for my job back within 6 months...8 years later, we are married and have two kids  Some people just don't want you to be happy as long as you two are that's all that matters
Good luck with the revision; by the sounds of it you are doing extremely well and won't have any problems with the exams but will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Monday 17th November 2008 (1 day to exams)
Hello you lot.
Firstly let me say a big thanks to you all for supporting me with my revision - you really are the best mates ever. It seems a little weird that I could pass you in the street and not know who you were etc but I can live with that!!!
Anyway - I am in the middle of day 3 of mega revision and I am stressing out big time - I feel absolutely sick to my stomach! Totally irrational I know - it's only a bl**dy exam! But still. Butterflies or what.
The decorator is upstairs doing the wallpapering - OH decided he'd just pay for it as we are time pressured. Almost had a row with him about the pattern match - he says there is one, I say there isn't - he elects to tell me there is after decorator has done one wall. He can't be here to oversee it - I'm crap, he'll be livid if it's wrong, I'm telling him he should have made sure he was here then, room is an odd shape - no proper right angles. All this on top of my stressed mind anyway. Still he rang before and promised to buy me a McDonalds in about an hour so hopefully we can work through it!

Afternoon Strumpet
I think you need a  or even a :coffee: and definitely some :EasterBun
A dab of lavender oil on your wrists or behind your ears will make you feel relaxed. As for being the decorating overseer, you can't be in two places at once - you are downstairs revising and the decorator is doing the papering upstairs. It is not your responsibility if the pattern doesnt match and anyway you could always paint over it if it is really ghastly:D
I feel sure that you will catch up on the NSDs, I am not doing so well since OH gave me 100 squids last night, mind I did have to go on a special trip to Lidl for him to buy him 6 pairs of sunglasses and 1 ski watch (he has to have cheapish sunglasses because he keeps losing them...aahh - he is no respecter of things and just abandons his belongings everywhere:rolleyes: ). I spent a bit on me too - some choccy things for my christmas tree and in woolies I managed to spend £6 on a white christmas tree and some bauble hangers.
Here's an exam tip - don't do any last minute cramming, spend the evening doing something nice and then wake up refreshed and ready for the exam. Go for a wee before you go in the exam room and take a deep breath and remember to read the paper through before you start answering any of the questions.
Good Luck:grouphug:0 -
Oh Strumpet - so sorry to hear about the wallpaper - typical, the last thing you need at this moment.
Horace has beaten me to it with the exam/revision/lavender tips!! I've got some lavender linen spray from Avon and I spray a bit on the bedding when I've changed the bed - lovely. It also helps relieve headaches as well.
Good luck.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Just dropped by to see how Strumpet is...fingers crossed for the exam today.0

Wednesday 19th November 2008 (1 day to go til 2nd exam!)
Hi All.
Thanks for your wonderful tips. Well I sat the first exam and this time I managed to attempt ALL the questions required. Not sure if I've done enough to pass - it was a VERY hard exam but at least I attempted it all so I should have picked up the easy marks on each question.
Two of the questions, I know I have got 10 out of 10 or at least 8 or 9 as they were gift questions! And I managed to get my consolidated Balance sheet to balance after extensive adjustments for foreign currency fluctuations AND I explained about everything I know on on the subject of why Human Resources, Intellectual know how and staff skills cannot be included in financial statements under International Accounting Standard 38: Intangible Assets!!!!!!
YAWN!!!
You only need 50% to pass so here's hoping.......
And now it's on to the second exam. This is much easier as it's a written paper and a lot of it is common sense as well as knowledge. Let's face it, if the Question asks for the characteristics of a good Leader, you could score a few marks without ever having read the study text!!! I hope the questions are more generic rather than asking for specifics. Then I'd struggle.
The thing I find so hard about these exams is that the study texts are usually about 400 pages long and they can ask a 10 mark question (10% of the paper) on one paragraph of it. I don't think it's possible to study it to that degree and have a job, need to sleep and eat, have a partner (have kids for some people - eeek! Studying with kids?!?!) etc.
Still, there are some people who sit all 6 management papers in one sitting. They must be right boring old f*rts!
Anyway, my friend Terry is sat in my house waiting for the carpet fitters to arrive. He agreed with me about the wallpaper - it has been done right after all - he's good with these kind of things!). So by tonight, all that will be required will be a touch up of paint work on the ceiling (dust sheets required!!!!!) and then we're onto the furniture etc.
Boss is still on holiday so hoping to get some clandestine study done at work later. I'm so naughty!!!
Hope your days are good
Love and thanks
Strumpet

Well done Strumpet, I'm sure you've done well on the first exam.
I'm sure from you've just said that the second exam should be a bit of a breeze for you.
Re: Wallpaper, if you've had your friend looking at it and he has said it's fine then I'm sure it is. Can you post a pic of it?
Fingers crossed for you for your second exam.
