    Morning Strumpet

Hope you have a lovely day at the races, you will need some money because you will be wanting to buy a hot roast bap.

Fancy finding some lost money too - wish I could find some:rolleyes: Good thinking on steaming off the stamp, I must remember to do that myself.

Have fun and try not to lose too much - only bet what you can afford to lose.

    Afternoon all.
Having a good weekend so far - done quite a bit of study but not as much as I wanted to. The bed still needed changing and sheets washing, vacuuming done, food prepared for the week etc - not just a case of doing nothing but study. There's a house to be looked after too!

Racing: Overspent not to put too finer point on it. Still, I had a really enjoyable day and even though though I also went out to Liverpool yesterday in spite of saying that I wasn't going to go, I spent less than £20. Double efforts to get NSDs this week to compensate.

Read my gas and electric meters to day and posted the readings onto the Eon website. The gas reading was queried as being very low against their estimate so that's good news - not as much as they think I'm spending. However, not surprising seeing as it's summer and the central heating has not been on for 5 months!!!

Also went online to the Northern Rock website and looked up my mortgage. It seems I'm £500 better off than my spreadsheet says so I must have put in an incorrect figure somewhere! Better than owing £500 more I suppose.

Well, off to do some more study - just stopped for coffee. HUGE pan of chilli cooling down ready for the freezer. Nice piece of haddlock loin to cook for dinner (enough for lunch tomorrow too)

Happy days - hope yours are too!

    Love Strumpet

    Hi Strumpet

Good news about your mortgage - sorry to hear that you haven't devoted the time to your study that you were going too (naughty boy).

Now stop slacking and get on with your study:D

    Morning all!

Woke up this morning to find that it had rained in the night, in spite of the weatherlady's promise that it wouldn't, so all the washing I 'd left out was wet again! Determined NOT to use the TD, I had to spend 10 minutes putting it all onto the airer! This made me late!

Trying not to spend any money today - brought lunch with me and, although Monday is usually grocery day, I am trying to put this off until at least Wednesday so that the cost falls into October! I have sufficient veg to last and loads of bread in freezer and bought milk on Saturday so it shouldn't be too hard to do. Should have enough diesel to manage also!:D

Not much else to report other than Horace putting a guilt trip on me over the study, or lack thereof, made me go back and finish the 2 chapters I promised I'd have had done by the end of yesterday. Thanks H!;)

Tonight I have Chapters 3 & 4 to make notes on. Set myself 3 hours to do this. And the knowledge is actually going in for once too. My difficulties come with interpreting the exam questions - what do they actually want? Still, college can help with that!

It's raining here in Blackburn so the day is truning out to be quite dismal. Changed the bed linen last night though and I always sleep so well when I do that!

Hope your days are tripping along.

    Strumpet

PS Oh! And I had an NSD yesterday - No 7 for Sept!

    Afternoon Strumpet

Sorry to hear about your washing but perhaps you should listen to the weather on the BBC instead of one of the other channels because they did forecast rain for some parts last night.

I am glad that you cracked on with your homework instead of being distracted by other things, let's hope you can do the same today otherwise you will not longer be called Strumpet, you will be called Slack Alice:rotfl: Ask them at college if they have any old exam papers that they can lend you? This might help in deciphering what is meant by the dodgy questions.

Well done on the NSD too - I had another one today but I am too ill to leave the house, I am suffering from a bout of Man Flu:eek: It's the first bout of illness that I have had this year, I knew I shouldn't have stopped taking the Echinacea tablets:rolleyes:

Enjoy the rest of your day at work.

Congrats on getting Chaps 1&2 done  I'm looking forward to tomorrows post saying that you've done Chaps 3 & 4, I intend to have a drink to celebrate with you :D

Poor Horace, I hope you feel better soon. Talking of drink above, I prescribe a hot toddy tonight to make your cold disappear - it alway works for me!

It WAS the BBC, but it was Radio 4 - what do they know?

I have lots of exam questions to practice on so I should be OK

  • Thought i would pop on over to your thread for a catch up and post rather than lurk. I hate it when you leave washing out and it rains. I have tried not to use my TD but its hard not too when you cant move for wet washing on the clothes horse.

Good luck with the studying tonight.

Thanks for dropping by LFTS - pull up a beanbag and help yourself to a fudge finger!I'm quite lucky with wet washing as my washer spins at 1600 rpm so the clothes are almost dry when they come out so it doesn't take so long on the airer. Agree that the smell of damp washing in a house is really yuk though!I'm quite pro-studying at the moment so I'm taking advantage and getting lots done. Really enjoying being at home and not having to go out especially when the weather is so dreary. Planning a nice tea this evening - steak pie, potatoes and .......wait for it.......carrot and swede mashed together. YUM YUM!!! (Bought the swede for 31p off the "whoops!" trolley in Tesco - bargain!
