It was a bit difficult to take piccies of them Strumpet - there wasn't anywhere sneaky for me to hide to take them surreptiously either:rolleyes: You know that if I had taken piccies then I would have sent them to you to drool over:D

I did take some pictures, outside the church, inside the church, up in the room that they had laid out for a wedding, some fancy old cars and that was it really:rolleyes:

    Enjoy your shopping:D

Dragon - I hope you sued the blind eejit who crashed into you - what was wrong with him, did he leave his dog at home or something:confused: Its not nice being hit by a driver who can't see, one pulled out on me in 1998 and I did sue and get compo but I am still suffering the after effects, my back goes stiff and it was difficult to bend down yesterday to pick up a leaflet about car hire that had been left on the running board of this old car:eek: I looked and felt like an old crock:o

Ah I have been on crutches for nearly two years now! I had a bad road smash about 14 years back (drunk driver on the motorway didn't see the 4 lanes of sitting traffic with hazard lights on!), I have a smashed right ankle (hence the reason I cannot work, walk or exercise other than [strike]sex[/strike] scrabble!! :rotfl:)

No to the vaulting trolleys in Mr T's I am more of Sainsbury's Dragon as they do not try and kill me :rotfl:, hmm reduced fruit and veg, also reduced Quorn meals!!

Crikey! (Wish I'd never been so flippant now!!!:o )
Still, you seem to be taking it in your stride. What a t*ss*r, that driver! Did anything come of it at all? That's really rotten luck - I know several people who drink and drive although they'd claim "Oh, I only had the one, guv!". NOT GOOD ENOUGH I say!

And you as well Horace! It's not fair. If these people want to go aout and get themselves killed, that's their lookout but it's always some other innocent person that ends up suffering the most damage! Throw away the key, that's what I say, or even bring back the stocks. Public shaming! And an excuse to use up all those rotten tomatoes I seem to end up with!

    Sending you both hugs!

Thanks for the hug Strumpet, I am feeling better already.

I get people asking me if I should be driving because I have glaucoma - the DVLA know about it and I re-took my test and can drive without restriction. I always make sure that my eyesight is good enough to drive a car - I can read the first line up from the bottom of the eye chart and sometimes even pick out letters on the last line (I do this with my one good eye whilst wearing specs).:D I never drink and drive - at the weekend instead of champagne I was given some sparkling elderflower fizz - non-alcoholic and much more refreshing.

Hope all is well in Strumpet land today? I am busy beavering away on my business - sorting out my website (emailing the designers), sorting out my price list, speaking to the chamber of commerce about my target test trade start date, sorting out my papers and even sorting out my filing cabinet (no longer will it hold my personal papers but will now hold my business information:j ).

Now I feel like a biscuit (not got any in) and a mug of tea or coffee.:D

No problem Strumpet! I laugh about it myself (most of the time) otherwise I would be the miserable git in the corner of the bar that everyone avoids! (hey the one advantage now is that Dr Dragon has to drive me to drink :rotfl:), yep the driver got a prison sentace (well as a policeman he should have known better than to be 7 times over the limit and driving!!)

Horace - a friend of mine is totally blind in one eye and still able to drive - he has to have a sight test every year though and send the result to the DVLA in order to retain his licence. Oh and here's a :coffee: for you!

    Hi guys.

Feeling a bit down today because I 've just worked out my debt low point for September and it's not too good. It's fallen from £631.30 OD to £873.58 OD.
So I've slipped by £242.28 which is not so good but explicable thus:-

My pay month runs from 19th of one month to the 18th of the following month and so my lowest debt point is always 23:59:59 on the 18th.

    1. Salary for 19/08/2008 was £120 less than usual thanks to Mr Taxman claiming back tax on my new company car! Salary for 19/09/2008 was back to normal thanks to change in tax codes!!!:D

    2. Had dental fees of £155 so far in September which was unexpected.

    3. My holiday to Lundy Island fell in this month. Admittedly, the boat and accommodation were paid for back in the Spring, but there was still diesel to get there (£70)and car parking while we were away to pay for (£18) . OH paid for food/meals/drinks on island (144), and the one night stay in Ilfracombe (£64) :D as I'd paid for the rest but it was still extraordinary expenditure.

I feel that I have been very frugal this month with my other spends so hopefully, the balance will fall again when I do the October figure.:j
Still a pain the bum though, especially as last month, the debt had fallen by £174.

    Ho Hum!!!!

Anyway, spent £34.14 on groceries last night, but using £10.50 Tesco Vouchers brought it back to £23.64 which was under the budget of £25 I set myself.:T I did buy several loaves though for the freezer which were at 2 for £1. Annoyingly though, I forgot the coffee and the bog roll!! GRRRRR!:rotfl:

Still, October will be better, especially as now college lectures are finished, I don't have to keep going to Manchester! I also get a rebate on council tax as lodger has left so I get single person allowance. Also have a concert on 4th Oct which will bring in some funds!

  • Just dropped in to say how much I have enjoyed reading your diary Strumpet (and Horace's - although I can't find his at the moment)!! You have inspired me to start my own - although I don't think it will be as entertaining as yours is.

7 times over the limit and driving?

He was lucky he wasn't 7 times over the limit and DEAD!

I sometimes think that policemen think that the law doesn't apply to them - we had an instance in Lancashire where two policemen were driving in convoy at 154mph near a village when they crashed into an elderly couple's car; the husband died. I think the case is still pending but they were testing a speed camera or something???!!!! Trying to say that, as traffic policemen, they were trained to drive at that speed. Yeah, right!!!
