Thanks for the advice Strumps I will ring them later or I guess it will be tomorrow now.

Am a bit fedup today - I have fallen out with one of my chums to the point where I have deleted her details from my phone, facebook and email:rolleyes: The funny thing is - I don't feel sad about it at all, I am wondering if I am flawed in anyway because I can just cut someone off and not even be bothered:confused:

Paid the balance for my new website which went live today but when I look it hasnt changed over yet so maybe in 24 hours. Also in 24 hours I can add the text for my additional information page and I need to tinker with the email too.

I am feeling really positive too and will need to find another charity to support so my guess is that I will help out St Nicholas Place as they need funds to keep the place going (this is a set of tudor buildings on Kings Norton Green). I think you would love St Nicholas Church too - it is norman in origin, 13th century and first documented in 1231. It has a 15th Century bell tower with a spire which is 60 metres high. Two 12th century chancel windows - other windows and even a memorial to a murdered 17th century tax collector:D The bells there are lovely.

    Hi H,

It depends how much they have naffed you off!!!
Some "friends" are takers - they just take your energy and give nothing back. These are not really friends - friends have a two way relationship of give and take. If your friend is a taker and gives nothing back, then I think it's Ok to draw a line in the sand and say that if this continues then you'd prefer not to be friends. The trick is to spot this kind of thing before it zaps all your sparkle. Same goes for partners.

Well said Strumpet! I have had to stop being friends with some people for that reason - I was always the one doing and helping and whenever I needed help with something they were "just too busy"

Managed my first NSD of the month.:j

Feeling a bit fed up as I'm losing the weight loss battle. However, on the positive side I am going to do my best to lose some weight by October hopefully. I haven't put any on, just haven't lost any so it could be a lot worse. I just wish I could wave a wand and lose it.

Regarding the money side of things its not much better - I can best describe it by saying that I'm keeping the status quo - not paying much off and not adding to it either (which again being positive I suppose is quite good). However, do need to get new tyres for the car so that will be another £120 odd to find from somewhere! Sometimes I feel like it never ends. Have decided to get the summer over (more expense with school holiday clubs for DS) our week's holiday and then come September I shall be back on the MSE bandwagon with a vengence.:D

    Jobs to do this week:

check out the childcare vouchers scheme and see if I qualify for assistance with the childcare over the summer hols.

start keeping my eating diary again and check all the WW points and try and stick to diet.

attempt at least another 3 NSDs.

Horace - sometimes when a friendship ends all you can feel is relief - its happened to me a couple of times. Yes it is sad, but we all move on.

Thanks for your wise words folks - my ex friend wasnt much of a giver more a taker, thankfully I had only been friends with her for a little over 12 months, pity it took me that long to suss her out, mind you at the same time I also deleted three of our mutual friends from facebook, they took and never gave so they've gone too and I feel that it was very cathartic:D

Wasnt around much yesterday as I was being poked and prodded at the eye hospital, one nurse was rubbish she couldnt take any blood samples from me and my arms look like pincushions where she attempted and failed, they are also black and blue:rolleyes: I have no idea what she did because she couldnt even get blood out of a really good vein - one of her colleagues did it in the end and amazingly I produced 3 vials of blood:D All is set for next week. I had to visit the clinic area too as I needed to have the strength of my lens and my glasses so that I can have the correct strength fitted during the op - well I loved these gadgets and asked all sorts of questions and have now seen a black and white picture of the inside of my left eye - it was fascinating:cool: Oh I got weighed too and now I shall have to seriously do something about my weight (eating 3 meals a day might be a start as sometimes I don't bother eating because I don't feel hungry:rolleyes:) I now weigh a shameful 12.5 stones whereas I should be around 10 stone:eek::o

Today is hairdresser day as I want to cover up my grey bits so later this afternoon a beautiful younger looking Horace will appear not the old grey owl that you have now:D

BTW Strumps how did your weekend go?

    ?

Ditto - except mine is 11.10 (but it was 12.5 not too long ago and believe me could easily be again:eek:

    Didn't manage an NSD today.

Diet wasn't too good either as I ended up having a buffet networking lunch:D

My diet wasnt helped yesterday by a power outtage at home and so I had to go go to the chippie for chips and I succombed to a battered sausage as well:rolleyes: I have no gas so couldnt cook anything - my freezer defrosted too so all food removed and placed in cool bags at 50% back in freezer and 50% in the bin (some of it was chicken and I had then intended to cook it but they were faffing with my electrics so I didnt dare risk it:mad: It would appear that I had some faulty wiring which has now been fixed thanks to the landlord's chappie:D

Had to buy milk today because the carton had turned to yoghurt and I went to the DIY shop (not the one a short walk up the road but to a bigger chain type one) where I bought 2 lots of galvanised shelves - I went for the cheapy ones at £19.99 each as opposed to £49.99 for the same thing except it had a posh name on:rolleyes:

Well dinner tonight is going to be beef stew and lamb chops:rolleyes:

Oh Horace - I am so sorry about your freezer. It happened to me once. Are you covered with your insurance?

    I managed an NSD today.

I have decided to try and be positive, more honest about my finances and my weight and take control. I will be writing it all down (warts and all) in my diary from now on. Its quite scary and I still don't like to write down my total debt.

    How are you today Strumps?

    Yes...where is Strumps?

I had a thoroughly lazy day today - I paid some money off my virgin credit card, had another look at assembling the shelving unit and gave up as I don't have enough hands:rolleyes: I sorted out some papers and then spent the whole day messing about on the computer - not even doing any work:rolleyes:

Hope you all have a fab weekend.

Weather is dismal today - woke up to fog horn blasting away - fog and drizzle - its still drizzling now and I think its in for the day. Did a bit of food shopping today - some essential some not:D

DH is busy trying to fix the oven. Its a range oven and one of the ovens (there are two thankfully) hasn't worked for over a year. DH said it needed new thermostat - it would cost approx £40 DH could fit it, but we put off buying it and now its obsolute and we can't get hold of one. DH has rashly said he may be able to fix it, so at the moment said oven is now in pieces and DH has taken over kitchen. Good news is at least it will mean I can get behind and beneath it to give floor a good clean:j
