Oh Horace - if its a crisps buttie make sure you use real butter and it has to be salt and vinegar crisps - and white bread:D

    Well done on your NSD.

Strumpet - well done on paying the CC straight off - what a temptation:D I am sure we would have had a wonderful time in the Maldives, but never mind:D

For my lunch I had WW tuna and a pitta bread plus a packet of snack a jacks - not as yummy as chip shop chips though, but I do feel good that I managed to stick to it (so far).

I might even manage an NSD today, but please don't hold your breath.:rotfl:

Crisp buttie eaten - made on wholemeal bread with cheese n onion crisps (it was the first bag I pulled out).

Had a spend day today and stocked up with a few bits from the corner shop but managed to save £2.50 on things that were on offer and bagged a £2 coin into the bargain:cool:

    Hi guys,

What an odd experience in the bank yesterday - the guy who saw me was obviously "on my bus" and really sweet - I think we hit it off immediately!

Anyway, I explained I wanted to extend the overdraft time period by 6 months as I didn't feel I could pay it off before 11th July. He took some details and had to make 2 phone calls to check if he was authorised to extend. They wanted to know loads of stuff - salary, other debts, job title etc. Thankfully I passed and got the extension but the manager said the bank was really tightening up on overdrafts, hence the questions. He did say to me that personally, he thought the bank were being a bit stupid as on my banking record, since I extended my OD to £1000 in January, I have used less OD each month (i.e. I am actively paying it off by around £50 per month), my account is risk 1 (the lowest risk on a scale of 1 - 9) and that they had authorisation to grant me an immediate loan with repayments up to £498 per month if I wanted it and yet I had to jump through several hoops to get my overdraft facility extended - not more borrowing or higher limit, but just the time period extended.

    Totally bizarre.

Rang a peal last night - it was very hot and sticky in the belfry and not very comfortable at all!!!

Finances are slowly sorting themselves out! Only £219.64 left on the CC, then and OD of £664 to tackle, but with an extra £500 a month coming in now!
Also realised that student loan repayments end April of next year so that will be an extra £57 a month freed up.

Got mortgage statemenmt this morning - I still owe £89606. My interest for the last 3 months was £1800!!!! So I actually paid off about £300 in the quarter. The joys of being on a fixed rate when the base interest rate is practically 0%. Still, for the first year the base rate was 5.75% so I was quids in then. Swings and roundabouts!!!

    Hi Strumps

The meeting I had booked this morning was postponed so I spent time opening a new bank account. Since I joined the FSB I have found that I can have free banking for life with the co-op and they will pay me £25 loyalty bonus every year and if they make a booboo then they will give me £25 for every booboo they make:D I get a free overdraft, free charge card, free credit card - Lloyds TSB don't want me to have any of these and make it difficult for me to get even a debit card, so they can go whistle. I can pay my money in at the postoffice which means some exercise for me as my nearest post office is half a mile away:cool: They asked me some bizarre questions too and I must admit I told a little fib - they asked if I was into bloodsports so I said no - but being a country girl then I don't have a problem with them having been hunting in the past:eek: (I havent been recently though but I did go on the countryside march).

I had a spend day - bus fare to town, lunch in selfridges (didnt use LVs), bought a top from Fenn Wright & Manson to go with my skirt so I don't have to wear the brown one all the time. I also forked out for a shiny new website which I will be able to amend myself whenever I like.:j the downside is that that they don't do pop3 accounts to my work email has to point to my home email (that is a small price to pay so I don't really mind that). Oh and because my new site is costing a bit and I dont have that much credit left on my Visa card - when I came home, I went online and shifted some money from my e-saver to my current account which has been used to pay E1000 off my credit card (the bank will only let me have £2K limit:rolleyes:). The new site will be more professional too - my old one served its purpose was a complete pain as I wasnt allowed to change it myself and had to pay each time:mad: And yet more news....I received my Class 2 NI exemption certificate today as well:cool:

Thunderstorms due tomorrow Strumps - its too muggy by far:rolleyes:

Its not live yet, I will let you know when it is..just click on my name to see my profile and it will be listed as being my home page:cool: The old website is still there at the mo and its naff.

I had to go out today as I needed some stuff from Lidl as I wanted to use my £5 off £30 spend voucher, my bill came to £32 so I handed over my voucher woo hoo. I stocked up on things that I had on my list and a few other bits - are their beefburgers as nice as birdseye I wonder? I stocked up on pizzas and pizza slices, got some veg, lasagne, 2 tins of ravioli (theirs are 99p and they're yummy), a bottle of cloudy lemonade and a few other bits and bats. As soon as I pulled up back at home the heavens opened - it was as though someone had turned a tap on:rolleyes: I am happy now that my freezer is full so that is one less worry when go into hospital.

Had a chat with BHSF too and it seems that I am allowed after all to claim for an overnight stay in hospital (to think I have missed out 3 x because of incorrect information and its too late to claim) so I shall make damned sure I claim this time as it will be another £200 into my sticky paws.:D Can't claim for anymore glasses though as I have had my quota of funds until 27 Jan 2010 which is a nuisance as I need some new specs:rolleyes:

    Morning,

I am busy at work preparing for tomorrow's VAT visit and I have to say that I am bricking it big time. I don't know why?!?! My accountant, Karen is going to be here whilst the VAT man is doing his thing so all will be well but I am still SO nervous! I am not this nervous when I am singing in front of 700 people!

Lodger has taken my bank details to transfer money across so that should be good. Mum has given me a cheque for £200 towards my bathroom repairs so I am well on the way to getting that done.

Sorry can't speak for longer butI need to go and calm down before I start doing more prep for tomorrow!

    HELP!

Strumps - the vat man will be fine. They're just strange folks who enjoy looking at numbers to try and catch you out, I can remember coming across one once, blimey he was strange. The company I worked for made over 1 million in the first 6 months of trading hence the visit from the vat man - well, he was an odd sort as he refused to have a drink or even lunch and I was told off for being polite in offering him a drink as he viewed it as a bribe:rolleyes: They're all the same strumps - they make us quake in our boots even though we have done nothing wrong.

I am considering becoming a bell ringer (I have forgotten how to ring though as I havent done it for about 30 odd years:eek:). I was sitting in my car on The Green at Kings Norton yesterday when I hear the bells ring at St Nicholas Church so now I am thinking about doing it again - mind you it could be awkward being a wedding planner and a bellringer at the same time:D

    Morning All,

Strumpet you are nervous because you take a pride in your job and you care about it. As Horace says these kind of people are born to make us scared:D We are in the middle of an audit at work which has been going on for a few weeks now so I know just how you feel.

No NSD for me today. How pathetic I have only managed 4 this month and I was being so confident aiming for 15. I think next month I will not set a figure to aim for but just try and get as many as possible. In order for me not to spend money I need to lock myself in the house.:D

No change in my weight this week - its only by the skin of my teeth that I haven't put anything on - I'm struggling big time to stick to any kind of diet.

I've never done any bell ringing but always fancied having a go. On a Thursday evening when the windows are open you can hear the bell ringers practising in our village.
