Cahoot log in problem....

  • I phoned cahoot a few hours ago to ask what's happening. The very nice person at the other end seemed to be saying that they had a number of systems down. The fact that someone answered the phone at all (in this case very quickly) was encouraging. However I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that any outage like this is likely to get the rumour mill starting. It doesn't take much nowadays to precipitate a run on a bank. I have all my fingers and toes crossed that cahoot comes back online soon!
  • The girl I spoke to said they'd all been twiddling their thumbs all day, unable to do anything. I wanted to move £s from savings to current a/c to cover 2 credit card bill payments, and can't do it by phone either, because all their systems are down so the call centres can't operate. I'll be mad if I incur a late payment charge because of this.
  • I have just phoned them ...They replied straight away ....Chap said his system was down & he could tell me nothing.......

This is looking more and more ominous, and the staggering lack of information from Cahoot makes it look even worse.
  • They haven't gone bust folks, don't panic. They are ultimately owned by Santander, and if they went bust we would have heard about it by now... But it is a big booboo whatever it is. I tried to make a big purchase and it was declined, so I suspect a problem with their payments system as well.

I called Cahoot around lunchtime and they informed me their systems have been unavailable since late yesterday night.

That means it has been around 24 hours down now.

I tried using my card in an ATM at lunchtime, and it wouldn't let me make any transactions.

They informed me over the phone that they have had reports of debit cards being rejected as well because of this.

Although they were very quick to say (without being prompted), that they were not having any financial difficulties, and was simply a technical issue that they have been unable to get to the bottom of.

That's odd - the Nationwide site has also had access problems today, reported in another thread

Something strange because you can always get on A&L and its been hard to log on in the last two days .Must be lots of folks trying to take money out or just making a check to see they are still going.
  • I can't login to cahoot. I was goin to pay some money from credit card into another bank account. I have sortcode, name and account number. Does any1 know if this is possible when I can eventually sign in? I need to pay for next year's summr hols in next 24 hours.
