Hi and well done to Martyn - you are obviously very employable! I hope the job you have chosen works out well for you. It's great to hear life is on the up!
Charlie's Mum - My facebook doesn't let me go from one page to the other and I'm afraid I said a very rude word at it (made DH jump when I said it!) and gave up trying. I am not that patient when it comes to waiting and staring at a screen that's not doing anything! Apparently, the average person doesn't mind waiting seven seconds for something to load. The only site that's worth waiting for is MSE!
Anyway, I've been food shopping and spent £39 - I didn't need any meat or cleaning stuff so that kept the bill down. I then popped into Woolworths; they had quite a lot of stuff reduced so I spent some of the High Street vouchers that I have been storing up on Christmas presents. They had those wooden pencil boxes with the sliding tops, complete with colouring pencils, for £1.49, so I bought one each for DGS and DGD and will put their names on each one using some wooden letters I've got somewhere. I also bought DGD aDisney statue of 'Belle' to paint and a craft box full of bits that had been reduced, also for DGD
Anyway, now I have to put the shopping away and decide on what to have for lunch.
I'll see you all later. Hope the sun is shining for everyone - it's gorgeous here today! Really lifts the spirits after all the gloom. It reminds me of how lucky DS2 and DIL were for their wedding a week ago - the sun came out just for them!

Back from lovely swim
And it's absolutely gorgeous out there too. MrsMix, no I didn't see the news (don't know why), but I'm not surprised... The council just don't wanna listen..... Serves them right. It is busier out on the roads today, but doesn't seem to be anything like as bad as it usually is either.
Candygirl, I'm glad it was a lovely anniversary evening for your parents, if very bittersweet. But I'm sure in some ways it was all the more meaningful? I think I'd have been in pieces... And what is your SIL on????? Has she no consideration?????? grrrrr
W-sybil, I don't think any of us know half the time what to write, I just ramble on..... your posts about your little bear are always very descriptive. I don't know why but I picture you (and please don't get offended!!!!!) as similar to the pictures of the 1930's(?) housewives that were on the thread a couple of days ago
Dazi, thank heavens you're not mortally offended....lol!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kathy, I think we all take broadband for granted now - I remember having dial-up & having to wait a few MINUTES for a page sometimes - now just those few seconds seems too long...Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

Don't know if this is a good idea - an experiment really....I have just put one of my feather pillows in the washing machine as it's either that or replace them. I guess it has two chances!

Not in the slightest Squiggley :rotfl:actually the laugh did me good, as unlike Benthosboy I think I must be unemployable, didn't get either of the ones I went for this week
Mrs Mix I watched that report on Airbourne, think that is the best thing about Sky, I can watch BBC south east
It also makes me laugh that the powers that be say its good for the town. My DS works in Wimpy along Terminus Road and they always say its one of the quietest times of the year as shoppers don't come because of the traffic and the watchers don't venture up into the town.
Have not really done much today, just the quiches and a bit of weeding. Was going down town shopping, then wasn't as OH was getting home early and we were going to take a trip to Asda, now hes not back early
but think we will 'do' Asda tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be dreadful. Can also have a look around Matalan then
Am about to take some photos of stuff to go on ebay as we have promised ourselves we will sort it out this weekend, hmmmm we'll see :rotfl: whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine
Stopped smoking 20:30 28/09/11

Oh Dazi, I'm sorry to hear that - I'm sure something will come up soon for you though.
I still haven't started my clear-out. Have my work summer barbeque tonight, should be nice - although my cousin who was coming with me has just backed out (unsurprisingly really) so I will have to turn up on my own. As I've worked from home for the last 2years & the company has expanded a lot, I won't know very many people at all... I'm sure it will be fine once I find a familiar face or two though.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

PO...if you put it into the TD to fluff it up, put a couple of tennis balls in with it...apparently it helps the feathers to separate from clumps......but please let me know how it goes as I have a down jacket that really needs a wash before the winter, and I want to know if that trick works

This is awful, as well as chatting on here, I can now chat on Facebook. I will never get anything done :eek:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Hi everyone, hope you are all well,
martyn, well done you!
Nice to see things brightening up
welcome verysillyguy
Dazi - hug for you, I'm sure something will come up soon
Pink - congrats for you daughter
It's so nice to hear it's all worked out well.
Aussie - the capes look really good! Young superheros in the making
I got a phone call from my (nice) ex this morning who was passing through, so we went for coffee - he does drop in to see me if he's in the area, which was sweet of him. He did bring flowers and chocolates as he always does too, which is a really nice guesture but I do find it a touch embarassing (he has more money than sense, so what he classes as a bunch of flowers covers two thirds of my desk). Not quite sure what I'm going to do with them *sigh*. Still writing, but not as much as I can as my head is a mess of protein structures I can't sort out and lists of numbers I don't understand. I honestly do know how people write these without going loopy
Still, better get back to it, have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
