  • Martyn, good luck for the other interview - always worth keeping your options open :)

And in true "from one extreme to the other" style, I've been offered this job as well

However, first instincts being what they are, I've decided to stick with the first job. Even though it's near Bridlington, I can get a lift to work, it's a bit more challenging for my (limited number of) brain cells and the factory is surround by open fields so I can keep my wildlife eye in during breaks.
The fact that the John Bull Rock factory is across the road has no bearing whatsoever on my decision  :EasterBun:whistle:   :D

    Man try :D

    Morning all

Lovely blue sunny skies over east coast of lincs.....about time too!!

Cut the grass yesterday found a bare patch where the ants have made a nest..and did some weeding, have chillies growing and loads of toms that need to turn red....I just had to get outside and forget about the troubles we have at the moment.

Made OH a lemon drizzle cake for his birthday, and a handmade card didnt get him a pressie as couldnt afford too, but my DD and her BF bought him a bottle of Jack Daniels, which he promptly opened and poured in his coffee at their flat....

Trouble now is deciding what we can afford to do on bank holiday monday (25th) its either wicked wild weekend rally in Derby or BSB racing at Cadwell we have never missed this in the 7yrs we have been together....argh decisions decisions....

    Anyway have a good day....

  • Never rains but it pours eh Martyn?! Well done on being offered it though - at least it means you know you took the job you wanted rather than the one you had to. If you see what I mean?

I will go swimming shortly. Checked the timetable & realised I'd missed the aqua class for today - that was something else I wanted to go. Oh well, there'll be one over the weekend.

Thanks Mummysaver, I thought (don't know why) it had to be a certain type of wheat (that I didnt' know where to buy...). I shall be freshly motivated to bulk buy rice, make space to get my sewing machiner out & do some.
Silvercharming, I luuurve blackberries - espeically in muffins. Which I am not making or eating having started weightwatchers now.

I am seriously considering selling my panny, I just really don't think I am getting the use out of it, and if I do use it much more I can't eat all the produce :( And even though I have a lovely new kitchen, my storage space/worktop space is so limited it just seems to add to the "cluttery" feeling I have. Will ponder a little more ....

Had a lovely night at Mum and Dad's 45th mini party, we all ordered a takewaway and took cakes n drinks round, and it was really nice, but obviously quite sad esp when we read the cards they'd sent to each other:o

  •:eek: The nice lady next door has asked me to knit some baby clothes!

I am very good at starting projects, and the tank tops for my male relatives are easy, I can knit while watching television, and I also can knit the uncomplicated bits while little bear plays (knit one, pick up little bear, purl one, knit two, rescue evil cat from little bear, knit three, lift little bear off the sofa and onto the floor, knit three, pick up juice and mop up spill...) But actually finishing an actual garment for an actual little one.:o

Of course I said yes, the neighbours are absolutely wonderful and have been very kind to little bear.

Actually, I remember seeing a gorgeous pattern and yarn combination in a catalogue... Or I could be sensible and get a free pattern off the internet and some lovely but inexpensive wool from the market. I don't have a good track record with sensible, it's something to aim for rather than a ground state. I think I shall just dig out that catalogue... Purely for research, of course.

Congratulations on the job, Benthosboy, and good luck.

Hello to all, I love reading all the posts, but I never quite know what to say :o

Morning, just.....so far today, I've taken my car in for it's MOT and picked up some bread and milk.
Mr Twit did arrive home last night and all I've done all morning is brew up.
Morwenna, I take it the curtains are washable.....I'd do them on the coldest possible setting, I presume they just need more a freshen up than a damn good clean. If they are huge and your washer isn't big enough....I know a launderette close to you that has big machines.

I need to do my Grandparents car insurance for them today, not only have they made a big saving....it's going through my quidco. :T

Oh well, better get the kettle back on.....I think he's in danger of de-hydrating.:rotfl:
