OS Daily Friday 15th August

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 15th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning everyone
Had a lovely night last night for our anniversary, went to a new upmarket Indian, food was lovely and they gave us a free glass of champagne each :T
DH had some beautiful flowers delivered to me at work, and my boss opened a bottle of champagne - so all in all a lovely day - thanks for all the wishes
Anniestar- hope you and Mr Anniestar are okay after this morning
Kaat - (((((hugs)))))
I'm so glad it's Friday - work has been manic this week, haven't been able to do much OS'ing
Need to take some pork mince out of the freezer, dinner tonight is ranchero pie.
(((((hugs))))) to everyone - have a great day

Morning TFI Friday:j
It's so cold here this am I have put the heating on:o
Another busy day today, still need to do a shop and get a bit more organised but hey it's the weekend tomorrow so I can catch up then.
Clear skies here at the moment but no doubt it'll chuck it down at some point today, I really need to wash the car, I would never have another black car they look so filthy after one shower of rain.
I hope everyone is happy and well x0 -
Morning.
We have had 18 consecutive days of rain in Cornwall, well where I live anyway... That could be broken today as none is forcast..... We shall see. Showers tomorrow and ehavy rain Sunday, so there is no respite.
I am supposed to be on 2 weeks holiday, but I have to nip in to work this morning as I just did not get everything done yesterday. Spent the day here
Then I am off.
Kids come home from camp tonight, so we have to pick them up.
Need to food shop as cupboards are empty.
Well have a nice dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning All
N9eav - do you work for the HSE then or the ambulance service - or am I just being nosey?
The kids are going to a friend's house today so I'm hoping to get quite a few jobs done. I also want to do a bit of shopping though and I desperately need petrol so we'll see what happens.
Not a lot to say but loads to do!
Hope everyone has a good day
Hugs

Good morning all! I'm reluctantly awake now. I would liked to sleep longer, but my brain refuses to go back to sleep.
Tons of cleans to do today - bathrooms, kitchen & dining room floors, bedroom, hoovering, dusting, and probably more that I've forgotten. At least tea is sorted, as there is chicken defrosted in the fridge for tonight.
I've also got to sort all the baby clothing I'm going to be putting ebay today, take pictures, and list it on ebay. It's one of those jobs that doesn't go too badly once you get started but takes forever to get started! But money is extremely tight this month, so every little amount I can bring in will help.
Well, I suppose I should wander down to the kitchen for a cuppa and get myself busy as I can hear DS chatting to himself in his cot.
Hope everyone is doing well today.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
:j its friday!
couldn't sleep. been up for hours, surfing about. now its time to get ready for work could just nip back to bed.
hopefully OH will do some food shopping as fridge is pretty bare.x x x0 -
Morning.....:hello:
Ooh, so is that who you work for N9eav? I bet that can be very interesting...?
Not much happening here today - off to work soon
However, DF is home tonight :j
Despite the cheats mentioned yesterday
I have to do the following:
WM on....wash-up....do some shopping later....tidy round....take frock to the dry cleaners....MUST put petrol in the car (otherwise I won't get to work!).... may even do some ironing (maybe!)....
The frock situation is almost sorted - won shoes on Ebay last night, found a necklace & earrings that are being made for me to match, ordered some tiny beads to sparkle up the bodice of my frock, only dilemma now is spray tan or sheer tights.....? I could justify having the spray tan as I haven't bought a new dress, I've already got an appointment for my hair that day, and I will make an appointment for my nails later....... Oh b****r it, I'll book the tan as well!
Right, breakfast is ready (Mr T bargain pains au choc, with smoothie from 1/2 tin peaches, yogurt & 2 very squishy bananas!), bath is run, and I really need to get into work before my boss (seeing as I am on earlies this week
)
:grouphug: to all in need
See you later

Morning all,
Julie I've added your thread to this one.
Thanks for all your congratulations for dd yesterday. I've been awake for hours, worrying about her going to uni. Silly I know, but I've been passing the time reading the student board and don't know if I feel reassured or more worried.
The house could do with a lick and a promise this morning then if today stays dry I'm going to take ds2 to a local open farm. He's been asking for ages but the weather's been too wet. Prompted by the kidney thread I have a real notion for some so that's what we'll be having for tea.
Off to pour another coffee. I hope everyone has a good day.

......
Pink, I'm sure she will be fine - if she has even 1% of the household management skills that you have, she'll be better than most students!
And don't worry about being worried - I still worry, I fussed like a real mother-hen when DS1 went to Leeds 4 years ago, and again when DS2 went to London last year.....to the extent of DF having to remove me before I started making beds & unpacking, and I cried when I left both of them
It is very hard to let them go, but that is the best thing any mother can do for her children - equip them with the skills, let them make their own decisions and listen when they have woes, offering advice & support but NOT doing things for them ( as we have done previously all their lives).
From one mother-of-students to another,
Love Floss xx0 -
Anniestar....hope the sun was shining for you - it was bright & light here on the Lancashire coast....was thinking of you when I woke :grouphug:0
