  • Just being really lazy and not wanting to hand wash. Does anyone put the panasonic bread pan in the dishwasher? It says do not submerge in water what about dishwasher? It's already been in once before I read it. I would much prefer to dishwash.

Tried a Lidl mix the other day on the 'timer' (9 hours) but it came out a right mess. I guess because the yeast is mixed in with the flour and not hidden underneath the flour it does not work on the timer ???

Tried a Lidl packet mix again on Basic Bake (4h) and came out again not risen properly.

Probably stick with the normal recipe but wondering if we are doing anything wrong with the Lidl packet or a just a bad packet?

I use the lidl's mixes all the time. I do them on Basic "Bake Rapid" and set the size to large. (It should take 1 hour 55 minutes) the results have always been excellent. The only time I did it on ordinary basic (i.e. the 4 hour programme) I got similar results to what you described with an unrisen loaf.

I think the suggestion to use the Bake rapid option is buried somewhere deep in the instruction book.

    Good luck

  • Can anyone tell me how much the Lidl bread mixes are?

Thank you, hubby going near a Lidl at the weekend so I will get him to get some to try.

99p for a 1kg packet which makes two large loaves.

  • I have recently bought the Panasonic SD254 and have had mixed results.
The best loaf was using Allinsons strong white flour on the fast bake setting.
I have got a packet of Allinsons flour with seeds in it but not sure which recipe to follow as there isn't one in the instruction book s not sure what amount of yeast, sugar etc to add or what setting to bake it on.
Any advice would be greatly received as my chickens dread me coming out of the back door now.
    Thanks
