Panasonic Breadmakers Tips and Quick Questions Thread

I have the older Panasonic and previously I had a Russell Hobbs. The Panasonic takes much longer than other breadmakers. So what you're saying seems right.
I think what's happening is that the machine is warming the ingredients and getting to the optimum temperature.
As to your previous loaf it may be a duff packet of flour. I once had a brick and it turned out to be the Hovis flour (a lot of people on this forum were also having problems at the same time).
I only ever use Carrs wholemeal and have never had a problem.

Hi, I have also bought the panasonic from Comet. I am trying to gather ingredients so I can use it straight away. What is the best thing to use to keep the bread fresh once its made? the bread bags in Lakeland did not get great reviews.0

Thanks for all your tips. The small white loaf turned out ok. Another question. Water. With my previous breadmaker, the water had to be between 18 and 25 degrees. With this one it says use tap water. What sort of temperature does the water have to be. It does say room temperature but that could vary because the kitchen is usually quite cool.0

Made about 3 loafs so far and all turned out really well
We made the Spiced Fruit loaf yesterday and you put 2 eggs in. Are you supposed to beat the eggs together before you put them in or can you just drop them in.
How long do you leave your bread too cool down before covering it up?
We are putting it in an air tight plastic container0 -
I use a Lock and Lock box for storing the bread. The large size just fits in. I always leave it to cool completely before storing.
My tap water is very cold (especially in this cold snap:rolleyes:) so I add a drop of hot water from the kettle until it feels just tepid.Preemie hats 9 :j0 -
oh just asked what I want for christmas. So I said a panasonic breadmaker as highly recommended on here. Looking on Amazon there seems to be 2 diff models one at £79 and one at £89 would the more expensive one be the latest model? Does it matter which one? are they as good as each other? and any tips as to the cheapest place, or cashback to get one? He pays I find the best deal. Thanks in advanceAnyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Hello
I had the same decision to make a couple of days ago. From what I understand the main difference between the 2 models is the more expensive one has a seed and nut dispenser. I'm not sure that warrants the extra money and also if that is actually the case maybe it also has other features but I decided to plump for the more expensive as if I bought the cheaper one I thought I may wish I'd gone for top one. So to be on the safe side pushed the boat out.
I bought via nectar although quidco is an option too from comet. Had an offer of breadmakers and came to around £78. She a few posts back!

I don't beat the eggs, I just bung them in on top. I love the spiced loaf it's lovely. I also make the recipe as dough only, add some extra flour when it's made the dough and then make fruit rolls in the oven.Piglet

I don't think I need a nut seed dispenser?
I have killed 2 morphy richards in the last 3 years. Though they were quite adequate for my needs, till they broke that is.
I dunno maybe wait for a sale. Thanks anyway.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

AFAIK the only difference in models is the raisin dispenser and I think you only get the rye padle with the more expensive model.
Personally I really like having the raisin dispenser as I usually make bread either overnight or when I'm out in the day so to make fruited bread or bread with seeds is really straightforward.Piglet
