I've just bought the Panasonic 255. Does anyone know if it has a keepwarm function? If so how long is it for?

Unfortunately it doesn't have one. It's something I miss as my previous bread maker had this and it was great if I missed hearing the finish beeps or I was not home when the loaf was due out.

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The moska has melted a bit of plastic on the breadmaker. It's on the side wall, looks like a hole in the plastic and don't think it's gone through to the metal on the other side. I presume it will still be ok....

Does anyone think it'll still be ok to use? :(

Oh heck!! I'd give it a try and see what happens - be careful not to touch the part where the plastic has melted - it may well get very hot. You could try ringing the help line for advice.Maybe it's possible to have a new plastic carcass??

I have made the sundried tomato and paremesan bread loads of times but have visitors coming this evening and would like to make them as bread rolls. Has anyone made this mix up as dough only in the breadmaker and if so what settings do you use? I haven't been too adventurous with the BM, I have only followed recipes exactly as stated so far.

I've got a melted bit of plastic on my breadmaker. I think I had a pan way to close to it and didnt notice until I moved the pan. But I've carried on using it and not had a problem. My burn hasnt gone right through, it just melted a bit of the outside plastic........ its not on the side tho like yours, its on the front panel:mad:

  • The heating element and mechanics are in the base. The sides are insulation and a couple of low voltage wires to the display.

If you have not damaged these wires it will be no problems.
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

I am just about to make some pizza dough in my BM but am slightly confused with the timings on the recipe. It says stage 1 culture - pizza dough 45mins but underneath that it also has stage 2 basic dough 2h 20min. Do I just need the 45 mins for pizza dough?

I have had my Panasonic SD 253 for years now - 5 or 6 I think - and it makes all our bread as we live too far away from a bakery or supermarket.

It has recently started to become very rattly and noisy, and worse, the bread doesn't rise properly anymore. I haven't changed anything about the ingredients, always routinely do the same thing.

Is it at the end of its life? Or is there still hope? Would like to hear from others who have experienced this problem.

    Many thanks in advance.

I had the problem of bread not rising in my kenwood machine, I wasn't doing anything different even changed yeast and flour but still flat loaves, and enquired about getting it looked at - would cost have cost more to get it fixed than to buy a new one. I think it was the heating element. I've now got the panasonic SD-255

Also, for anyone who can't wait for the 5 hours for the sundried tomato or olive type loafs - I've done them fine on the rapid bake white setting chucking everything in at the beginning.
