Yes they used to do U3 enabled drives with a password. Remember, however, that passwords can be cracked or circumvented, and the stuff on the drive remains unencrypted. Encryption is safer.0 -

Good, glad you like it, so far!0 -
I've started to use a Freeware app called SafeHouse Explorer a very small and easy to use safe. Simply copy your files to the container file and they are secure! No admin account needed to run and you can simply copy the files to the USB drive work on it and then copy it back into the safe when your done. There is an option to securely delete the files when you copy them so they can't be recovered. I used to use TrueCrypt on my USB (still use on my home PC mind) but I prefer SafeHouse as a portable solution, as you never need to worry about administrator access so ideal on Internet cafe PC's etc.0

Hi, Lady_K, the easiest option would be to buy a usb flash drive that already has its own security software installed. One that I use is the Sandisk Cruzer Titanium U3 USB 8GB. As well as the security advantages it is virtually crush proof and can also be set up to store all your web browsing log-ins .Try mobilefun although you could probably find it cheaper with a bit of searching.-www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/15977.htm
Try starting your machine with the drive inserted, on some machines (that recongise USB drives in BIOS) when windows loads up you'll have no need to enter the password to view the locked drive
That said, I use one of those too...... But I hacked the firmware by fooling the update tool into thinking my website was "sandisk.com", so now it totally **cks the PC (removes all control panel options, turns the screen upside down and sets the PC to shutdown 30 seconds after startup) if you don't go through with entering the password :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
