I don't know why, but chewing the cuffs of their school sweatshirts seems to be quite a common occupation. I mean, I know school lunches aren't always to their taste, but that's desperate!
And while you've all got the tissues out, pass them over to me because I no longer have a schoolboy in the house. How did they all get so grown up?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Ask someone who has a child already at the school if they have a school handbook, and ask to have a look at it, it should tell you in there what's expected uniform wise.
I'm surprised the school didn't get in touch to keep you informed - most schools are a big fan of sending instructions out.:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Most of the supermarkets do cheap school uniform in black/grey/navy, but my daughter's school has brown/yellow clothing. M&S only do one brown skirt in their school range catalogue, that has a butterfly motif on so would be banned anyway... Does anyone know of a supermarket or shop that does brown?

WOW loads of info, will defo try and get in touch with the school. Still trying to get a hold of the school, DD Starts on the 2nd of sept but the school are hoping to get her in full time (nooooooooooooooooo:-( ) as soon as possible. We have got polo shirts for when she starts just the Trousers, shoes, tie and jumper. I was thinking of getting a fleece as DD has problems with hot and cold.
Still not sure about the pencil case issue tho. Will speak to the school to find out.
Also i will make sure that DD's name is on every peice of clothing at least 2 times0 -
Hi everyone
My DD starting school in a few weeks and I really want her to have hairbands/bobbles etc to match her uniform but I can't find stuff anywhere.
I'm looking for a green gingham hair band or a bow hairband and matching hair clips and bobbles.Been around the shops and on eBay etc but no luck.Any ideas?
Many thanks0 -
I've found gingham scrunchies/hairbands in Claire's. Failing that, what about buying some gingham material and plain headbands and making your own?0

School Unifrom Shops?. My local shop Broadbank & Empson (School outfitters)have them all in the window.
If you where to call one of the stores i'm sure if you could probably purchase over the phone & they would send them to you.0 -
Is your DD short? I was short so mum always had to take my dresses up-the hems always got turned into scrunchies and alice bands.0

I remember having these at primary school as my uniform was also green gingham and my Mum used to buy them from BHS and Marks & Spencer's - admittedly I'm 23 now so they may have changed their stock in 15 years!"It would be so nice if something made sense for a change" ~ Alice in Wonderland0
