Cheap School Uniform Discussion

Fine and Dandy but our school Key stage 2 has to wear a blue shirt, not a polo. Any offers to include this option?0

Had to resupply on school shirts when it warmed up a bit & suddenly the hideously stained &/or ink spattered shirts Could Be Seen.
The lads quite enjoyed identifying some things (although I think the "blood" & "alien gore" were exerises in creative description) but the quiet one does like to be neatly turned out, so he hauled me over to the shirts at the supermarket.
It is still a nasty shock to realise they are all too big for nil VAT childrens clothing & instead at 20% VAT youth wear... Ah well. Come September there will have to be a rack of 15 white shirts for ironing. (I don't. They do & will teach youngest...)
As for tricky colours, I'd send husband to buy the set & then go in later clutching only the shirts (& a child) & apologise that he'd goofed. Much depends on the assistants & how busy they are, but usually they're sympathetic. May be a store size thing if you can play one against another? Good luck!0 -
Any idea when M & S will be doing 3 for 2?0

Our school has changed the logo as of September.... A logo' jumper is £13.50!
New book bags/ties/rucksacks....all new logos. (Except the tie obvs
)
Switched to blouses which are more expensive and stain easier.
I also need to get a hoody,joggers and skort each. There are logo hoodies and joggers but I won't be buying these as they are 3x the price of supermarket ones.
Just got shoes to get which will be from Clarks..expensive but they last the school year.ADVISE-"I advise you get help"

Sports Direct is good for plain black hoodies and bottoms (think they come in navy too at least) - it's their basic Slazenger range at that, so won't break the bank.
My elder two's High has just done the same with a complete uniform change - laid out almost £200 already on the stuff we have to buy through school, and not even got trousers, shirts or the 3 different types of PE footwear they want.
As to good deals right now - I'm finding BHS is good at the moment for general kidswear, so have given them a go with their uniform trousers (all youngest needs thanks to sale buying and hand me downs) as there is a 20% code valid til the end of July.
Debenhams also have 20% off schoolwear right now, but I don't know the quality of their stuff.
But to be honest, I'll most likely end up at M&S for the elder ones trousers and shirts - their stuff just lasts and wears better than the supermarket cheapies - which are so often a false economy to buy.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0
