Hi. I am looking for a cheap car rental (preferrably with very low or zero excess and an on airport pickup) for Malaga, Spain from 27th Oct to 4th Nov. Need a mid size car like a Focus as got 2 small children with car seats to fit in. Anybody have any suggestions?

Looking at Enjoy Car Hire (fully insured, zero excess and £90) and Holiday Autos (fully insured, zero excess and £118), but they can not guarantee an on airport pickup as they use local companies. Holiday Autos have said they will book me with a local company called Advantage, they apparently have a desk in the airport car park but not sure if the cars are kept onsite or offsite, has anybody used these before? Enjoy have not replied to my query so this puts me off to be honest.

Ebookers have reasonable prices (£123 and fully insured) but it does not state anywhere what the excess is for Spain which makes me think its very high and therefore I would be forced to pay the extra £25 for the excess waiver insurance, does anybody know from experience what the excess is?

Just trying to make the holiday as cheap as possible as was an extra little holiday that wasn't planned!! Also using my In Laws appartment so may start going regularly with the children so would be very helpful to find a good, cheap, on-airport car hire company.

    Thanks

Be careful on two counts, as I found to my cost this past week in Spain (Reus airport).

Through Amigo Autos, the broker I have found most competitive in Spain), I hired a small car from GOLDCAR.
As is normal in Spain these days, the car came with a full tank of fuel (for which I was charged at well above roadside rate) and told to return it empty. I only used half a tank so it cost me dear. Their other rip off was to charge me in Sterling, at a ridiculous exchange rate when I wanted to have my card charged in Euros.

Cannot help you with the excess - I have an annual policy to cover this so do not take it each hire.

I really wouldn't get too hung up on an on airport pickup at Malaga. the car desks are just after baggage re-claim and usually have long queues. Then it's into the darkest, stuffiest, most fume filled underground car park to pick up the car, OK we were there in August so the heat didn't help but the cars were parked so close together it was a job to load up, never mind inspect the car for damage.

I would go for an off airport option, out into the fresh air, quick minibus trip to the open air depot, much more civilised, especially if it saved money too.

Never been cheaper in my experience - once you are there they know they have got you - especially Nice. Take a good look around - use a comparison website - then use this site as there are voucher codes/links which will give you discounts with some firms. On one link there is occasionally a voucher code you can use as well.

pulling my hair out with this one...

11 of us all flying into toulon and looking for the cheapest combo to hire cars! Either 6 seater and 5 seater, 3 four seaters, 7 seater and 4 seater etc etc.

Some sites tell me there are 6 seaters others say this is untrue and the car code I have is a five seater!

Ive got 7 seaters coming up at 600 quid and four seaters at 200, what should I do :(

    whats super-u???

Do they hire cars, I'm led to believe they do but all the website is french :(

If anyone has the time to help Id appreciate it but if not dont worry, thanks all

Hi I am going to the USa for 6 weeks from september and want hire a car for that time (preferaby a small suv or some thing similar that i can load up a lot of stuff as its a buying trip) but they nearly all have a 30 day policy which means they want me to return to the office i got it from and either have another car or they Check/service my one,This sound like a lot of hassle as im not in the area when this time is up.Also a lot dont seem to mention if a second driver is free. All i want to do is have the car and not return until i go home

Hope not to sound too spammy, but just come across this thread and thought I'd add that Henfield Hire's Car Rental service is cheap
