  • yeah he has always hated jewellery thinks it will strangle him...! i wouldnt mind but i look like a complete bridezilla! (which of course i am not :A) LOL!

so what have you got planned for that night of the invitation?

    LOL!

I can't really remember what I did but I don't think I really did that much, probably just went out with a few workmates for a few beers. I need to start doing something abt the beer belly that I am sporting as a result of weekly (sometimes twice weekly) drinking sessions! :o

  • How is everyone doing? How did the last week go? Its more of the same for me, stayed clean but had to resist temptation. I wonder when the temptation is going to go away.

the temptation will always be there. You just have to be strong enough to realise you have a choice now.

you can remove some of it by putting blocks on pc's/phones etc

I just dont get the urge anymore after so long. It rarely crosses my mind. When i say rarely i mean maybe once for a few seconds every 4 or 5 months!

Good morning. New to this thread, but I need to post here..

That £100 a week that i set aside for gambling has turned into £20 a month and now the £100 a week will go on overpaying my debts off. Ihope to be debt free by May next year, I know its going to be tough but I know that I can do it.

is there elsewhere you can suggest for you to hang out, you would be doing them a favour too
    LOL!

drinking is expensive and weighty try alternating your drinks.

the only times i bet are for football world cup and euro cups, i bet £1 per game. and yes I always bet against France... lol :rotfl:

He he nothing wrong with doing things backwards.

We are in a one bed flat so have decorated utility room (door taken off) in pale yellow with circus train wall stickers. Cot and wardrobe in there. Really cute :) Baby will be in a crib with us for first 6 months so wont get used for a while but hubby was too excited to leave it.

had lots of visits this week from GA friends keeping me on the ball :)

i'm just sleeping, reading and watching movies. not much else i can do at the moment to be honest. too tired and in too much discomfort.
Not helped by the fact i slipped on a wet floor last week in a bar and have badly sprained my ankle and covered in bruises :(

    8 days til i'm due now :D

Hmmm not engaged??? mine was a whirlwind. knew my hubby from school but we'd not seen each other for 19 years! met up, he proposed 13 weeks later and we married a year after that....a year after that i was 5 months pregnant.

    Life's too short

  • im not much of a movie person, but have you watched anything you would recommend? maybe we could start a hobby club to fill up time people would normally spend gambling? you could whatever hobby you just need to report about it.

i would really love a book club, so i am going to join the next dont buy any books thread next year. i love to read and just dont really prioritise it.

oh no slipping on a wet floor!? must have panicked you! you feeling better now? yoru ankle less swollen?

yeah not engaged, ring will be ready next week. i wont see the finished product so that will be a surprise when it does happen LOL! we bought a second hand ring which the setting i really was not keen on, way too high and uncomfortable to wear. so i got a jeweller to redesign the setting, went to see the model today, love it!

i love your story that is so beautiful and yes life is too short, when you know, you know and no point putting it off :)

    Hey all.

Hope everything is going well for you guys.. Reading your posts things seem to be going well.

Not been around much recently.. In limbo a bit. Waiting for the OR to call me..

Wheels are in motion. Not really wanted to gamble, it has joined the list of all the things I can't really get the motivaation to do anymore. had 1 slip up, 1 deposit...

Just wiating and seeing how this is going to run... It's all I can do really. Had so many " If you don't pay this in the next _ days then you are in trouble notices... Then.. right if you don't pay within this many days and we mean it notices.."

I can't seem to get the courage to call these people and tell them.. Some people offer token payments, some just ignore them. I want to ring and explain, I have tried to pay these back for years now, but it can't go on. And worry that doing that will make things worse.

To all my creditors. I'm sorry but I can't carry on working, living on 10 puonds a week, and worry myself into the ground anymore. Please understand.
  • " I say "only 8 weeks" cause I am a binge gambler and I could go weeks without a penny gambled and then I would hit the self destruct button "

    The importance of this statement??

I been surfing around a bit and had it in my head for a few hours..

Do people who veiw this problem really see that this is basically what you are doing.. ? Making a decision to do that to yourself.?? Well, to say you make that decision is wrong really... Who would make a decision to sabotage their own life. And at the end of the day you have no control over the decision anyway.

It's not up there with taking your own life, and please, I wouldn't want to play down that kind of tragic thought process, it's in the papers quite alot isn't it?

... But it must be along those lines.

Looking foreward to when I can come here with good news about my fresh start.
