Sorry to hear about your redundacy but glad to hear you're being positive!

It would be a good idea to take stock of the contents of your wardrobe, eBay whatever you don't (ie haven't used for the last 2 years) and remind yourself of what you have and don't need to buy again.

Do the same for your garage, shed or attic. Anything you haven't used and has no sentimental value can be sold too.

Other things that take time but are worth it are baking bread at home and making jam if you have your own fruit or get given some.

    Good luck!
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

Any clothes mending/altering that needs doing? Knitting/crocheting. Gardening - send off for free packets of seeds etc and see what happens! Find out if there are any free to visit attractions in your local area, sometimes it's fun to pop off to exhibitions etc on your own - means you can take time to look at bits you want to look at without being hurried along, or skip the bits you're not interested in instead of pretending to look engrossed and intelligent! Free trial for online DVD rental? Boring things like sorting out important documents... or scanning and organising old photos... or backing up your computer... These are all the sort of things I end up doing when I have a bit of time off work but I'm not on holiday, and end up getting desperately bored sat at home alone!
