    Morning all

Sunnyday - I wouldn't worry too much about it being 'the right time' to plant things (well, within reason anyway) - the weather is so screwed up the plants don't know what to think anyway. I'm growing allsorts out of season and they are fine. Do remember to tend to yourself as well as the garden though ;)
N9eav - is it really only 16 days? Feels like loads more. At least I don't have to water the garden every evening (and the ducks are rumoured to be enjoying themselves)
Poppyoscar - you didn't half make me chuckle, my cat is the same! But I can't be annoyed at him because he's a rescue kitty, even though we've had him for seven years now he still goes into a blind panic at the prospect of an empty food bowl! Plus he is being so good with The Patient right now I am spoiling him a little bit.
Bethebee - :grouphug: big hugs and I hope you feel better soon. Take a bit of time out for yourself - the bathroom can wait, it's not like you're all going to come down with cholera or something if it's cleaned a few days late!
Troo - you are so lucky getting chooks! Dave won't let me have any :( And I have names picked out and everything: Benny, Custard, and Scramble. He is so mean! I agree about Jimmy's farm, we always want to do the same. We both grew up in farming areas, and every time we watch it we start throwing balls in the air about here or there or wherever. Ah well, plenty of time yet...
Charlie's Mum - which Danny Wallace book was it? I have one of them, if it's the right one I can post it you
Kaat - Huge hugs to you and Archie, hope you are both okay

Big hugs :grouphug: to all suffering cabin fever from being trapped indoors with the kids! And, as ever, everyone who needs or wants one :grouphug: and anyone I've missed while writing this

Am I the only one not on Facebook?!

Well, The Patient was up very late last night but he is asleep now so I think the pain has subsided. I just made a muppet of myself at the doctors - I walked in okay then as soon as he asked how I was I burst into tears. I don't know where that came from, on the whole I am feeling a lot better than I was, but now he thinks I'm really bad again. He told me to stop trying to do everything, but actually, trying to do everything seems to make me a lot better. Anyway, he said a lot of it's to do with what's happened to Dave. He said the other doctor said I was very jumpy when she came round to look at him. Well, you would be, wouldn't you????!!!!

I want a remoska too! It's on the list as the next 'big' purchase but it'll have to wait a while. It's a pity they don't sell them on Amazon, I've got enough vouchers there (saving them up for a Kenwood Chef).

I think I'm going to do not much today, if I can help it. I'm tired already.

    Love to all xx

    I've been Money Tipped!
It is raining here, really, really raining. I'm not sure whether to take the pushchair to the shops or a dinghy.

Little bear is really grumpy. He woke last night and was pointing at his mouth, so I gave him some medised. I have just given him some more because he woke up in a really grumpy mood and I think the dreaded teeth are hurting him. He is currently singing quietly in his playpen and may get a much needed nap after a lot of disturbed nights.

When do I run out of teething problems? It seems like the longest break is about a week, before once again it is red gums, hideous nappy rash and a grumpy little bear.

Candygirl - I was so poorly all the way through carrying little bear, I lost a lot of weight. I didn't convince the midwife I was poorly though because I was so happy to be expecting. I think it was the happiest time of my life, even though I couldn't eat for eight months and I could barely walk for the last five. :o

Next year we hope to get a new kitchen and the Remoska seems to be an ideal solution to the problem of feeding a family without a kitchen. Is it something you just plug into the mains or does it go on a hob? The cost of the Remoska will be completely lost in the expenses of new kitchen units, floor, plaster work... My darling husband may not even notice!

    Hi everyone,
Haven't had time to read the thread today but just wanted to say what lovely photo's you posted yesterday Mioliere and Whatwit what a terrible time you had yesterday. I can honestly say it doesn't what age your children are you still worry over them!
DS2 has someone coming to look at his house tomorrow so fingers crossed as that will be the start of him moving on. He is doing so much better now.
Very windy here but no rain yet.
Off to the gym back latter. xx

Its funny, I have been a member of this site since 2003 (my old user name died somehow), always more of a lurker than a poster. But you do miss people when they disappear - Lillibet and I were pregnant at the same time...haven't been on much lately, but I notice a whole change of people...I remember Cathy, but does anyone remember Trafalgar - he/she was one of the first prolific moneysaving poster. Glad to see Black Saturn is still posting.

Mine's a barn cat 'rescued' from France. I've had him 7 yrs too, from a kitten, and he's a total wimp. Of course, he's out sparko now, and I'm the one with dark circles round my eyes!

The only obvious problem since I brought him here in March is that there's nothing to kill here - we had a big garden in France full of mices, and he loved it! Now the best he can manage is charging up and down the stairs like a critter possessed every so often.

I'm trying to train him to use the cat flap into the shed so I can leave him out a bit more. he's worked out how to get out, but not in yet - this morning I booted him out because of the whinging, and he just studied the shed from all angles but didn't try the flap (I have posted him through it lots of times, so he should know!) even though it was p'ing down!

Cat of very little brain, but I love him!

    PO xx

Morning all - lucky me I had a looong lie in but then dreamed of a plane thatturned into a canoe. Checked dd's blog and there she is in a canoe and on a plane. Not that spooky as I knew vaguely that those were the plans for yesterday but I must have been worried about her.

Princess Pixiedust - thanks for the link - I hope I did it right as I'm flying solo with dd at w*rk. goodness where would we old ladies be without you young things to explain things to us.

Yep, definitely sounds like Mittens, he never learnt to use a cat flap either. Dave tells him he's got a pompom for a brain. We've got one of those litter trays with the door and carbon filter, we had to take the door off as he kept getting stuck inside :rotfl:He doesn't kill stuff, though, he's never shown the slightest inclination. Even the birds have learnt to ignore him now. Once a wood pigeon landed about five feet away from him... and he ran away and hid indoors, with his fur all fluffed up and a tail like a squirrel!
He is blimming useless, but he's a sweetie. When we first got him he would whimper and flinch if you even tried to stroke him, but now he is the most affectionate cat I've ever seen! I'd only ever get rescue cats now.

Morning Everyone. lashings of rain here first thing, but blue sky at present. Hope DH is taking niece and nephew to Duxford this afternoon - if not (ie if it rains again) it'll be me taking them to the Stansted Toy Museum.
All this talk of Face Book yesterday made me finally decide to join the rest of the world and join too! So far, just the one friend confirmes, but I really need help to find how it all works! Thanks for the OS link Pixie - I've sent a message to join that too, then I'll work out how to request the rest of you if that's OK. Discovered my DS already on, hmmm may need to watch what I say then!
Troo, I so envy you going to Ilfracombe, it was a favourite place to go when I was a child. My Mum was in the ATS stationed near Ilfracombe during the war, and she loved it there. Hope you get some sunshine!
Right, need to wash the dogs' beds, then organise nephew getting into the shower! have a good day, all.
