Silvercharming, we had plans for a smallholding (still do) but then thought why wait til we can afford more land? Let's just start it in the garden we have, but on a small scale. So we did
As chooks are part of the smallholding plan, he can hardly argue about having them here

We've had chickens most of the time since 1996, and always in a small garden in suburbia. They really are great to have around! The first egg is always special and I have a photo of ours, laid by a Maran in about September of '96. Brill for cooking with, but wait a few days before having them as boiled eggs as they're too fresh to peel easily.
