I guess in future don't do them (I won't) but maybe the principle here is that shoppers should be informed in advance if a job will end up costing them, then we can all make a decision on what suits us. For some it might be viable and worth it for the pizza for a quid or so..
Actually, on that chicken job they DID increase my reimbursement to cover it - which is why I thought they would this time! I know I'm being stupid getting this wound up over £1.25. It's just the principle of the thing. I don't mind doing the report for no fee if I'm getting free food, but I don't think I should be out of pocket. I did a dine in pizza for them this week and I lost about a fiver on that but I felt that was my fault because I went for the larger base with the fancy crust, and the reimbursement probably would have covered it if I'd just bought the medium. So that was my choice, but on this I ordered exactly what they specified.
I agree, they should make it clear at the outset if they are not going to cover the amount you spend. They must think we're all starving over here and will do anything for a cheap meal. :rotfl:
Will it have any impact on my standing if I email back and complain? The way I feel now I am inclined to cancel the 2 jobs I have with them tomorrow and just have no more to do with them. I guess I want some advice from someone more experienced and more rational because I know at the moment I'm not thinking clearly. I've had nothing but hassle with Gap and feel like I wouldn't be losing much if I never work for them again. Help!0 -

Ok I have to share my day with you, I think I have had my worst mystery shop today. It was at a local pub which is literally at the end of my road, it took 1hr 40 mins for my food to come! Thankfully I bought a paper before, but was struggling to concentrate on it after drinking a large glass of red on an empty stomach!! Also I was waiting for them to clear my plate for 30 mins before deciding to cut my losses and leave! Thankfully I didn't sit outside otherwise I would be a lobster right now!!0

Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong?
Unfortunatly, Gap feel they are such a superior Mystery Shopping company, that people should feel honoured to work for them, which means, being quite happy to be out of pocket on certain assignments. (this was actually stated to me after I made a similar complaint)
Ok, there are some companies out there who expect you to work for nothing, just a "free meal", but you know this before the visit commences.
Gap like to spring the surprise on you when you pay the bill.
It is a case of live and learn I am afraid, unless you would be going there anyway and would be happy to pay part yourself, don't accept the job,"Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0 -
Does anyone know if you loose points for rearranging jobs on RE?
Also does anyone have one of the japanese takeout type restaurants from RE, on the notes it says:
Thursday Visits
Wednesday visits are different to other days of the week because your report must be completed online by 7:00pm the same day. Please do not pick up a Wednesday mystery shop if you are unable to do this.
I have emailed them to ask whether this is thursday or wednesday visits, but just wondering if anyone knows as they may take a while to reply???
You don't lose points but you dont get the 2 points for Job completed on initial date.0 -

I've calmed down a bit now! I guess it's not too bad paying £1.25 for a pizza (if you forget the hassle of timings and doing the report etc), but I think it would have been easier if I'd known from the start that it was going to leave me out of pocket!
As for that comment Gap made to you about how they are a good company... I'd just lurve to know where they got that idea from??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
