I am trying to help so so forgive the rush as I am off to work but I am not on probation with RE and there are no visits showing up in Glasgow for restaurants. If it is the 2 drinks and you get a meal and your hubbie or whatever has to pay for their own which means you earn zilch then stupid ridiculous 100 plus questions many also with comments they want added AND a 250 word summary. As you then pay your own petrol you are doing the visit at a loss and spending several hours doing their work, earning them money for free.

If doing that floats your boat fine we all make our own choices.Me if I am going to earn nothing and spend ages doing reports, uploading receipts etc then often getting what you say queried which often means you making a peak rate call at your expense and not there's well as I say it is your choice.

Me I would rather just watch the grass in my garden grow ( and the weeds)

  • I have to agree with HP that these jobs are not worth it. If they gave one more meal it might just be worth doing but the questionnaire length makes that assertion up for debate...

When you give thought to what the msing company earn it does make you wonder what the difference is between what they get and what we get...

  • Very hacked off with RE at the moment. They claim they have been trying to contact me and they actually haven't...then they go into my account and delete my phone numbers and fax so I put them back in there. They clearly did not dial correctly as when someone phoned me last Friday everything was fine. And then I had a surly woman refuse to put me through to the person who had sent me an email asking me to contact her...not happy.
  • Just been on RE site and negotiated an extra £5 on top of the fee to cover travel for an assignment they need done today...I got it!! This means it will then be FREE later for me to travel to the cinema where I am attending a free screening of a film preview. GOod Moneysaving or what!!

I don't mind RE at all - nor GAP for that matter. But I am very careful which jobs I accept and don't do any I don't fancy. And always read the questionnaire first to see if its worth the effort or not ;)

I've had some nice meals out with them both :) I actually prefer having to order less stuff as I can't eat 2 courses most of the time, never mind 3!

  • Well done Flickering Ember, that's exactly how I work and tend to use msing more as a way of covering my travel costs (if I'm going somewhere I set up a job where the fee - not necessarily a job with travel expenses - will cover what I would have had to pay out anyway. I'm hoping that my efforts to reduce the impact of fuel price rises on my personal finances will pay off! Sometimes I do book a series of jobs in one area and travel there specifically to do the jobs but again I tell myself it's a day out with a meal or a coffee (subsidised) or even a bonus compulsory purchase and feel that it stops me spending out my own money!

Haha, me to! Nice to not feel guilty about ordering 3 courses though! Btw my report has been approved, so I guess they have accepted only 1 dessert on the bill!
  • Just had a query to send my receipt again...
