Simone, i am a newbie too and on Friday thought I would apply for some MS jobs. I applied for all those on the first page on this thread and have so far been accepted by 4! One has said 'no' and the others I am stilll waiting to hear from.

    Good luck
  • Hello everyone, first post on this thread..

I joined Retail Eyes and did my first assignment with them (a pub visit) a week ago last friday (10 days ago). However it says that I am still probationary. How long does it normally take before you get taken off probationary status so that I can do more assignments?

    Any advice would be great.
  • Been to the dentist this morning and managed to combine it with a bank job (hope the police don't monitor this site or they might get the wrong idea ). Anyway I was legitimately in town for my dental appointment, but as it happens this town is about 40 mins drive from where I live, and when the bloke asked where I live, and I told him, he asked what brings you out here? I told him I'd been to the dentist, but I'm not sure he entirely believed me!!!

Anyway, this bit was funny. I had to ask about opening a business account and he was telling me how they do the best deal anywhere, you get 18 months free banking etc etc. So just to prove it, he goes on the computer to show me the websites of the other big banks... first one comes up... oh looks like they give you 18 months free banking, too. Let's try this one... oh, they give you 2 years... so I suppose you might want to look at that one :rotfl::rotfl:

I felt quite sorry for him actually! _pale_

I expect you'll hear in the next day or so. It's usually around a week.

Hello to all the newbies :)

Sorry to hear about the crap time you've had HollyPear. Hope things get better very quickly!

I've never been called by Gap or Re to do jobs. In fact only by GFK.....I only give my mobile out though ;)

I've moved some of my jobs around so that on our 5 year anniversary next week I've got a pizza job :rotfl:We'd usually go out for a meal but we've had so many meals recently thought we might as well combine the two. It's only local so fingers crossed it goes well. But even better I've bagged a casino visit for this weekend :D Neither of us have ever been so will be a nice experience. Who'd have thought MS would get us gambling :p

Hmmm:mad::mad: RE I am pee'd off with them again.

So tonight I thought I would do the RE pub visit as it would be a welcome relief after my week. Done the report and it is a 2 people...1 gets a drink from list A and the other from list B but only 1 gets a meal. Then did the report>:mad::mad: 105 questions then a 250 word summary. Then it wont submit saying there are unanswered questions. One was level of trade which had a drop down box where I ticked Very busy 90 - 95%, And they wanted a comment!!! So I pput a comment and said READ MY ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION HOW MANY WAYS CAN I SAY BUSY. In the bit where it said what did you have as a 2nd meal I had answered "No second meal ordered as it wasn't in the briefing notes to order 2 meals. That came up as "Unanswered question" So I lost the plot and said "If you wished me to purchase 2 meals and 2 drinks then YOU need to pay for that as the fee of £5 barely paid the petrol. and the report and photo uploading took me 1 1/2 hours.

Is it me being a crabbit git? Can you picture their face when they see that answer in the morning.

And another thing it says on their briefing notes if you make a spelling error they wil deduct points. Yet in the briefing notes they spelled negatively wrong. So can I take points off them.I hope they phone with a query on it as I will tell them to stick their jobs where the monkey keeps his nuts.

    .

Hollypear, I'm so sorry to hear about your stepbrother and all the other rotten things. I hope you're feeling a little better.

I just wanted to say how brilliant your comment to RE was and I, too, would love to see their reaction! I'm registered with RE but so far haven't taken any jobs because the fees are all rubbish! Also agree, the TNS diy ones seem to want an awful lot for their tiny fee.

I think half the problem is that so many of us are struggling - I'm new to MSing and I've only started doing it because we can no longer manage on hubby's wage and I'm finding it hard to get a 'proper' job. There must be a lot of people in the same situation and if they accept the jobs with the poor fees then I suppose the companies will think they can get away with it. Maybe we could try educating people on here by reminding people about the low fees every now and then?

HP - big hugs from your ms friends :grouphug:- so sorry for your loss and your time in hospital - hopefully things will get better for you soon.

Newbies - Helloo and welcome to the thread :hello:

Simone83 - A lot of the comps have work your way (well plenty in Aberdeen and Inverness that people don't pick up), I'm not sure how far of a commute that would be for you? Also, I would recommend you sign up with CCA - they do tourist attractions in Scotland only. The link to them is here.

    Have signed up thanks!!

Just a quickie on tax. I am already classed as self employed under a T/A.

I can put this through under that as I am self employed and not a registered company??

I know its seems a daft question but dont want HMRC sending my to HMPS!

    Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has used www.mystery-shoppers.co.uk before? If so are they a good company to become a mystery shopper for? Any advice would be grateful - thanks.

I got along very well with them (in the days of paper reports and posting) but I seem to have outstayed my welcome with them since they have not phoned me for about two or three years with any work.
