Went to do a MS at a London station on Saturday - a Coffee one. Got off the train (was having a day trip to London) and the booth wasn't there, just a sign saying due to refurbishments some of the food and drink outlets had gone  (also checked with the info stand on the station that the outlet had gone). I've emailed TNS and they're going to contact the company and get back to me but wasn't best pleased.

Did do another one of these yesterday though near where I live which was fine and an electrical one too.

Just one to do this week, a food lunch one then a week off work which I've currently got 5 Mystery Shops to do - making the most of being able to do week day during the day ones ;)

I mentioned in my email I wasn't impressed that I had had to spend time and money printing out the questionnaire and reading it through and preparing for the shop only to find it wasn't there (and least I was literally going to walk past the outlet so I hadn't made a special trip but did then have to buy a drink elsewhere). I'm hoping this will be taken into account when they reply later this week after they've been in touch with the company.

  • All joking aside - should I include this in the report or not???

IMO if something happens (good or bad) then it gets included. :)
  • Has anyone done the latest Bare phone shops? Is there much counting involved this time and what's the q'airre like?

    TIA

I agree with you, I also give a bit of latitude, based on experience and common sense too.

I haven't done this job, so don't know the questionnaire.

As a customer / punter, his honesty has to be commended, as he is putting your interests first, by recommending you go to the competitor.

As a shareholder of his bank, you'd probably be annoyed that your own staff are advising customers to go to the competition.

I was once in a supermarket doing a competitor visit, asked a staff member a price on an item and she said; ours aren't as cheap as T**** down the road :rotfl: , I just had to put that in the report !!!

I wouldn't exactly say he was recommending I go elsewhere. He was clearly expecting the others to offer only 12 months free banking and that would make his 18 months look good. When he said I might want to look at the other bank it sounded a bit hollow, like he felt he had to say something. He was clearly taken by surprise.

We all make stupid mistakes, don't we? Let's face it, it's not as if he's going to do that again! What's that saying, when you find yourself in a hole... stop digging!

Aside from that, he was actually very helpful.
