Another good reason to avoid Vista;

Fear not; "be_alright" will be along in a minute to explain how this demonstrates Bill Gates' "ingenuity and forward thinking."
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Nodwah,
I'm really happy that you got it sorted to your satisfaction and now feel confident to advance with the system of your (freedom of) choice. That's great.
And I'm glad that you could see I was just trying to give you a chuckle to help you recover from your moment of temporary anguish.
Please forgive my deficiencies in panda-sexing; unfortunately they don't seem too good at it themselves.
Keep eating the bamboo!
Certainly not my mate Bob,
Clearly, you were too desperately devoid of a sense of humour to notice that I waited until nearly ten minutes after the OP had advised us all that the problem was solved and that the future of the Chinese Ursidae is bravely committed to Vista.
Through your red haze of pomposity it perhaps also escaped your notice that the OP thanked me for the posting that got yout panties in a twist.
Please feel free to apply to the webmaster for a little cap with lots of scrambled egg on its peak to wear when you're sitting at your computer and instructing everybody else what to do.
But don't count on anybody here paying any attention whatsoever to your imperial decrees.
Oh - it was a joke - my apologies
I shall laugh now - belatedly.
What a wag you are.0 -

When you get to the part of the manual that explains how to laugh at yourself, you'll be well on the road to functionality.

It's a good reason to not turn off UAC.
Poor article that doesn't really open up too much except fearmongery.0 -

Where is this debate going? Select an O/S and hardware grade that you are comfortable with...simple. There are so many post's on here that are flawed technically, "consumer opinionism" at play, factually are incorrect and being an IT professional find them quite amusing to say the least, there is no right or wrong system only the wrong type of choice that you have made at the time and only through operation have became to realise this, I remember when everybody slaged off XP and portrayed Win 98 as some kind of "martyr", thankfully that learning curve ergo win98 has been long learned and safely past on. If you are comfortable with XP then continue its use, Microsoft are continuing its support until 2015 so you have plenty of time to hate it.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
I have a lot of experience using both XP and Vista. Both are great. There is something to be said for old and sturdy. XP has always been reliable however I wouldn't change back from Vista. I'm still working out some of the flaws but the functions on it are great.
Bugs take time to work out and I'm gonna remain patient. My advise stick with Vista and keep downloading the updates.0
