Did anyone else just get an email from Tesco online advising that there is only a few short weeks left to take advantage of their game deals in their online extra store.
::) Don't know whether to laugh or cry.
I did but I thought it was just someone in c/s taking the p**s!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
>:( I hope this doesn't mean I now have to start fighting with Trading Standards for giving wrong advice now.
I don't think I can handle the pace! ;) ;D
I think that the trading standards have got it wrong as well in this instance.
My understanding of this, (I spoke to a consumer lawyer in Which? legal services last week regarding a similar transaction), is that by submitting an order to them you are in effect offering to buy something from them at a certain price. If money is enchanged then the contract is struck, ie they agree to sell you a product at the price agreed. If they dont supply for whatever reason, they are in breach of contract. In this instance you could theoretically buy from somewhere else, if they refuse to supply you, and claim back the difference from them, but this will most probably be via the small claims court.
Just thought I would add my 2 pence worth0 -
Got the 'sorry you are disappointed' email too.... not sure what to do next, it really does suck that they can trample over consumers so easily. I've got an xbox and ps2, but would have loved a gamecube.... but as someone else said, its really the principle of the thing.
They are simply not telling the truth.... 'our supplier cannot provide the hardware'.... they clearly can, because they are the same supplier who is getting them the other bundles.
They are just playing 'big brother', and is another example of the classic british 'p*ss all over the consumer' attitude.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
It's a matter of principal here with the offer by Tesco to buy the item and the acceptance by us to purchase and with payment taken is what makes it a binding contract.
Gutted not going to get one but I can't be bothered to argue the toss with them this time.
I have noticed in Gamestation you can pick up second hand ones with a game and a controller for £50 which isnt a bad deal by any means.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Had a phone call from Trading Standards re the Virgin cancellation. Bloke reckoned it was and I quote...an interesting/legal issue - with the question of "loss of bargain" that I'd raised. Said he wasn't able to offer any advice and wanted to pass the query on to the H.O. legal office.
The judge's decision will be final and all that, lol.0 -
