When did you take on the tenancy? Should he have put the deposit into a scheme? PLEASE contact Shelter - you may be entitled to sue him for 3 x the deposit if he has not done as legally required.......0 -
Whoops, looks like I said I was going to move this and then failed to do so. I'll move it now and see if the BGs on the House board can merge it ...

hi everyone,
Well I've moved back home with my parents and am planning on commuting to work ... I have put the majority of my things in storage to save bringing it all home and then taking it back again in three weeks. I haven't informed the LL and I'm not sure whether to bother or just leave it now - I plan to return the keys to him by recorded delivery to be sure they dont get "lost."
I'm very worried about what could happen to me now but i'd rather risk it from home where I will get fed and he wont be able to come round etc when he likes. I also won't need to worry about what I am coming home too after work ...
I havent taken any photographs of the state of the room as there was no inventory and he never put my deposit in a scheme so I believe he never intended to give it back regardless.
I also rang the Enviromental health and the housing people regarding the state of the house etc and they said they will look into it although what they can do is very little (standards are very low legally it seems), it seems he wont be punished or anything for it ..... My Mum's had a proper rant about it this afternoon and surprisingly seems to be supportive of what I have done.
I am sick of living like this though and really need to get my life sorted, I honestly dont know where to start though.
