I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

I'm glad to hear it.
Incidentally, www.champdogs is one website which is a good place to start IMHO, but just because a breeder appears there, doesn't mean they are good, it's just a good place to start........Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
I will be buying one to maybe show again, so would only buy from champion stock0

You are probably better off going toa dogs home, looking around and seeing if you can (with supervision) take the dog for a walk.
My parents did this with our youngest dog and we took our older one up to see her, to see how they get on with each other.0 -

I think it's appauling how you have just jumped on the OP for asking the question Raksha you know nothing about how they are planning to go about finding their ideal puppy, it's not like they were going to buy the puppy off the website like you'd buy a jumper off e-bay!
No breeder in their right mind would let anyone take a puppy without vetting you properly (and you actually seeing the puppies in person) and they would fully expect you to do the same to them.
Would you care to share (by PM if necessary) which sites are monitored by th KC because as far as I am aware the KC have nothing to do with any sites advertising puppies. The KC will register any puppies that meet the criteria for registration without vetting breeders at all and KC registration is no guarantee of quality in itself.0 -

I recently reported a breeder who advertises on Champdogs because I became aware of information to suggest that they are engaging in less than ethical breeding practices and the Admin of the site are investigating. So, no, Chamdogs is no guarantee of quality either, IME.0 -
Hi cheepskate
the magazine 'Our Dogs' has a section, tabbed at the top where you can click puppies for sale.
Once there you can go to the rightside panel and select the breed you are looking for. It then takes you to a selection of breeders and the Dam name along with breeder.
Not sure if this was the one you were looking for but may be another option in your search.0 -

What planet are you on? The KC dont monitor any websites selling pets, they dont give a damm how pets are sold. The KC is a voluntary body and although they have a code of conduct - they don't police it.
Having a KC registered pet means nothing - its no guarantee of a healthy well bred animal. Not even the breeders who are on the KC website are "monitored"
I didnt see anyone "jumping down" anyones throat in this thread (till I just did) What I saw was a sensible reply to a thread titled " WHERE TO BUY A PUPPY"
And theres hundreds of "breeders" out there who would not only not interview you as to your suitability to be a dog owner but will be happy to meet you in a car park with a litter in the boot of a car to take your pick from.0 -
Thats a bit unfair, but i think you could of perhaps of had a lucky escape. It might of been that she just wanted to rehome him as quickly as possible but i wonder if lil pug was known to be a bit sickly and would of cost you a fortune in vets bills.
I'm sure you will find a nice dog to fill the new bed.0 -
You can give people advice but Cheepskate is obviously going to still take this route no matter what people on here say, but it's THEIR choice and if anything goes wrong then it will be their own darn fault, so just leave them to it but Cheepskate you did put a thread up on this site knowing you will get anti as well as possitive replies so you cannot have a go at people on here.0
