    Afternoon all

Like many I was up early, but it wasn't down to any yowling cats - I had to be at work by 7am. Back home now doing some more work but for different jobs.

Already done my daily clicks, so that's one less thing to do.

Dinner today is roast chicken, with left overs already tipped to become chicken noodle soup.

I've heard rumours of a chocolate sponge being made at some point:D

Busy watching the Olympics, thrilled we've already won a gold.

Mioliere....glad that everything went well for the wedding...relax now, you played a blinder!
Jayward...take care, sorry that you are not feeling well still.

Smoky..hope that the summer is going well for you all...any start on the driving yet?

    KAAT..hugs

Hester...glad you enjoyed lunch...panic attack gone I hope

    Cat...enjoy London..especially spending in Harrods!

Been watching Gaelic football this afternoon so no idea what's happening in Beijing.

I know that someone is off to see a DS perform in fringe festival in Edinburgh, but for the life of me can't remember who...think that it might be wmf...whoever, enjoy the trip and reunion with DS

Hugs to all in need or want

  • KaatLady, huge hugs to you & your cat. What a sad time, but I'm sure having you around is making things easier for him....

Dorry - Zac was my daughter's best friend. He died very suddenly last Sunday morning, 3 days short of his 16th birthday. So it's been a very sad week here. On his birthday I had about 50 teenagers here in my garden around 10pm & my daughter & Zac's sister did fireworks in his memory. All the kids are just so shaken up (as am I) and it is so very sad :( (in fact he added me as a facebook friend about a week before he died).

Catowen, have a fantastic time in London & enjoy spending!!!! I went to Harrods as a child & it was just a huge department store that I remember..?!

And Mummysaver - booking SANTA in August?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?! aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh...... (runs to hide in denial.....)

Thanks mummysaver - we are so excited about it, im hoping to get some birthday and christmas pressies sorted whilst im there, so knowing they have an HMV is brilliant news!!! Im going to treat myself to some clinique and some new undies - normally i buy Peacocks or Primarks £5 bra sets, so it will be a real treat for me to have some expensive stuff!!! Unfortunatly we wont be there for the 21st, so miss out on Father Christmas, but last year my 2 'found out' so i dont think they will mind too much!!!

Sorry Squiggly! My kids really enjoyed it last year tho! Lovely grotto and nice waiting area with little fairies that moved their heads and wings, yep, really doesn't take a lot to impress me lol! We did pay for a photo tho, worth the £10.00 to have a permanant record of ds's embarrassment - btw there was no pressure to buy a photo, you actually had to go to a desk outside the grotto, and we had to queue for a bit, to get them!

    hi everyone!

It's just started bucketing down here! :o Much the same yesterday when me and DH went on the London eye (using our merlin passes) - but after the fiasco of all the engineering works on one tube line or another - we have decided its not worth trying to go up London at weekends anymore, and I live in London!
I do hope the weather is better for you when you arrive catowen! I would think Harrods sell pretty much everything! I have some half price vouchers for madam tussauds, but if you are going to museums, they are free anyway.
Oyster card for yourself for tube/bus etc and dont forget kids travel free.

Thinking of taking the kids to Walthamstow Greyhound Racing next week, it closes down next saturday - so the end of an era!

I saw Asda had some PS2 games for £5 yesterday - went in today and all gone!! that will teach me to get them when I see them!:rotfl:

mummysaver - thanks for santa booking tip! They went like hotcakes last year and I want to take the kids this year!

    :hello: Hello!

I logged on this morning and managed to read Page 1, but have only just got back on here again so I haven't read the rest of the thread yet. But wanted to say

Mioliere - it sounds as if you had a wonderful day on Friday! I'm so glad the sun came out for the happy couple. We were all thinking of you!

Penny_Pincher - I hope your leg is feeling less painful now.

AussieLass - I'm glad to hear you eventually worked out what the pattern instructions wanted you to do in order to make your dress! And that you're enjoying having the new supermarket not too far away. Did you have to travel to the mainland before for shopping (apart from the shop on the jetty)?

silvercharming - hope Dave is continuing to improve.

rchddap - Awww, please don't call your little Lily a "toad"!:A
:D at her wandering around in just her nappy though, they all seem to like doing that. I'm so glad she's doing so well after all the worry you had when she was tiny.

Stefejb - No more laundry fairy then, when DD comes home?:D I hope your eldest does move back in with you too, then you won't have to worry about her safety in the flat. Oh, just seen that you've posted that she has moved back in - that's good!

Shez - nice to see you safely back! Glad you enjoyed your holiday, and hopefully you will get a chance to see Snowy and Marie next time.

catznine - well done to your DS! You must be so proud!

Mrs mix, Churchmouse, catowen, VickyA (unless you're still in NZ!), Bargain Rzl :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:

Lelc nice to see you back!

I hope everyone who's not well will get better fast!

((((HUGS)))) to all in need, especially Penny_pincher, Smokybabe, Kaat, essexgirl, candygirl, Squiggly and Betheebee, and apologies to anyone I haven't mentioned.

Dinner is Curry Queen's "Whole Chicken in a Crock", but I'm having to cook it on High as I'd forgotten how long it takes, so by the time I got around to preparing it, if I cooked it on Low as the recipe says, we'd be eating at midnight

DH has made a start on the packing for our trip to France on Wednesday, including packing some teeshirts he took last time we went but didn't wear - he'd put them in the top of his wardrobe still folded, so has now put them in the suitcase, still folded...I suggested the fold marks will show badly when he puts them on, but he says he doesn't mind!:D

Off now to read page 2 and 3 (and possibly 4 and 5, the time it's taken me to type this:rolleyes: )

    Take care everyone,

    best wishes,

    ivyleaf xx:wave:
