Money saving -- well having lots of no spend days and I am really enjoying doing some cleaning ( I know how sad ) but after being in the bus it feels great, so my friend will have a lovely surprise.

    Morning peeps

Kathy your day sounded fantastic - all that hard work was worth it in the end cant wait to see the piccies:j

Got woken up at 3.30am by a distraught friend who had a massive row with their OH  - had to pull out all my coaching/therapy skills to try and restore a little bit of calm and at that time of the morning it wasnt easy:rolleyes: Sounds like a case of far too much alchohol a drop of stress and an over emotional day adding together to light the blue touch paper. Anyway I really hope they sort it out they are lovely couple and it would be so sad if they split   My cannine guest managed to sleep through it all and by the time I fell back into bed he had comendeered (sp??) most of the bed:rolleyes:

So I have been out with doggy to our local disused airfield for an hour or so so am feeling ok about having a massive croissant and coffee for brekky.

Aussie - I didnt know Benny and Bjork were in the film - good reason to go see it again though:D

    Have a lovely day all
    Nels xx

Meant to say well done Team GB on our first gold:j :j

Morning, another one with cat trouble here.
When I went out at 1.50am  to collect the girls from town, Aston the cat came in, there was food in his bowl.
When I returned, Aston had gone out, so I topped up his bowl and went to bed. In he came at 5am yowling and shouting for all he was worth, this is a common occurence. I got up and went to watch him start eating  Just dozed back off when he started playing in the hall, as we have laminate floor right through, it was pretty noisy.
Mr Twit shot out of bed thinking we had intruders, I did try and mutter that it was the cat and he had been fed and everything. Lovely nights sleep.

Anyhoo, Mioliere, I'm delighted that everything went off without a hitch and you had a fabulous time :A
Pixie, have a good day out with Squishy and the boys.
Catowen, how are you doing are your two excited about London?
Morwenna, I think graphite powder may be better for the lock, it's not as sticky as WD40

No plans for today, the girls will no doubt soon be up and piling on the slap ready for the last day of Rebellion 2008, at least tonight it does finish earlier ;)
Off to make another brew for Mr Twit.

Big hugs for those in need, Mr PenPin, Candy's Dad, & LELC to mention just a few.

Love to all The Twit. :grouphug:

Very windy but at least no rain (as yet) so managed to get to the school boot fair. Didn't stay long though.......walking round an open field in strong winds wasn't my idea of fun. Still, got a few bargains and OH is over the moon with some chilli plants he bought. We've got some growing but these are just that bit further on and me might get some chillis off them.
Done nothing but sneeze since I got back and last night had a really dry throat.............blamed our lads mate who called round smelling as if he's fallen into a bucket of Hugo Boss !(Why do boys do that?) Enough to suffocate anyone I thought.
So, now it's lemon and honey and strepsils............!!
Ex foster girl calling round later on..........I bought some little blue plants as the boot fair........maybe she'll have an idea where to plant them cos I haven't a clue at the minute ! Bought in a moment of weakness............lol

Hope you have a good day and hugs ((((((((((:o )))))))) to those who need them

    Hi Everyone,
Well what a windy night here. Quite expected to wake up and find a lot of damage in the garden but apart from having to stake up a few things there wasn't a problem.
Thank you Squiggly Diddly for asking about my DS. I have never heard about putting toothpast on insect bites before. I phoned him yesterday and he said that his leg was still swollen but that it felt a little better. he is coming up to lunch today (chicken in red wine , new potatoes and lots of veg)so I will find out how he is. How long were you in Nigeria for? I lived in Canada for three years when I was first married.

I am so pleased to hear that the wedding went well Mioliere now it's time for you to relax and have a bit of you time.
Hugs to everyone that needs them.
    have a good Sunday x
  • Splodge, I was out there for about 2 years (from when I was 12-14). Very interesting, loved the ex-pat lifestyle but we came home just as it was starting to turn quite nasty & unsafe out there. I've never been to Canada, but relatives have & thought it was a lovely place. Toothpaste is great - obviously I wasn't recommending it for nasty infected bites like his, they do need proper seeing-to, but worth remembering another time if something gets you!!

PippaS, your OH keeps needing you for quickies?!? TMI methinks...lol!!!!!!
Hester, hope you're ok & the attack subsides soon.
Jayward, hope you also feel better soon - and everyone else who isn't feeling great.
Whatatwit, another one having cat trouble, lol - maybe it's all the wind making them skittish. Unlike my two who are well & truly settled in now - I'll try & post a pic below.... Nope, can't figure out how to resize or anything, I'll have to work out how to do the linky thing....

    Afternoon all

:grouphug: for all who want or need one!

Mioliere, what a beautiful post, I'm so pleased it was a good day (and you always know it was a really good day when the little mishaps don't seem to matter in the slightest) I was a little choked up at the obvious love and pride in your post.

Yes, I'm rather tired and emotional today. In the literal sense, not the drunk sense! The patient is in very good spirits today, even though he is still in pain. I think this is because there is football on the TV, so we'll see how he feels after the match - he's a Man U fan, so I'm hoping they win, purely for medicinal purposes :rotfl:

I've got bits and bobs to do today, I read through the gas/electric/winter threads and have fifty ideas  bullet pointed to either act on or discard, although some of them just involve making little signs to remind OH to turn of lights behind him, etc. I also have some items to ebay - I went on the ebay board earlier and then remembered why I never go there. It's because, reasonable precautions aside, I always get paranoid about being ripped off, either by a customer or by ebay themselves. Although the stuff I'm selling today is pretty much just junk anyway. If anyone sees a big silver morphy richards breadmaker going unbelievably cheap, don't bid for it!!! It's mine, and it's rubbish. ;)
