My nearest supermarket is Sainburys. I refuse to shop there because there is always a queue at the tills yet half the tills are not in use!
I therefore drive to my nearest Mr T, much better service and no queue, mind you the last two shops have been online because I have been working funny shifts for the last few months.

I've also noticed about Tesco that people wander about randomly in all sorts of unpredictable directions. It's the same at Asda.

I use Tesco simply because they are cheaper than Asda on the products that I buy, they have far better offers and the money off vouchers for online shopping are better than Asda. I also prefer the fruit and veg from there it does tend to last the whole week. AND i get points to shop there. More than Asda offer.....

In the 4 years i have shopped online with tesco, although not every week but most weeks i have had money off codes a minimum of £5 as much as £15 and never had to go out of the door. No trolley rage, no fuel spent and literally 15 minutes spent shopping and 15 to put it away. For me to actually go out of the door it would be an hour round trip, an hour round store, then lugging it out of the car and 15 minute putting it away and a fiver fuel?????And most importantly i would have had to entertain 4 kids whilst doing the shop no thanks.....so thats why i shop at tesco albeit online its still the same.

Also i put into Asda site the same as i had in Tesco site and it worked out over £7 more expensive. That was without the BOGOF offers taken off. Also I pass asda 3 days a week and call in now and again for my other bits such as earl grey which is half the price of tesco, but for that 70p saving i have known me spend upto £100 on impulse buys, for instance in June i went in for some milk and bought the kids school uniform total £189. (thats for 3 kids though)
You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

I think I go to Tesco about twice (or maybe 3 times) a year - not sure what it is that I don't like. Mr Ollie goes more than I do - but I wish he'd stop getting their salad stuff. He keeps getting their bagged ready salad stuff and the quality that we've had is awful. The stalks are so 'thick and woody' and the leaves are actually 'spikey and tough' - even HE refused to eat the salad on thursday and threw the remainder of the bag out. Maybe it would have cooked like cabbage?

I can't see much difference between Asda, Tesco, Morrisons or Sainsburys.

M&S & waitrose are a bit pricy, but I think M&S is more expensive because Waitrose do some great offers & reductions.

M&S is wonderful for treats. And the reductions at Waitrose are much, much better than any other supermarket when things are on their sell-by. Even better, my daughter has a Saturday job there and the stuff she brings home is unbelievable. Joints of meat at £8 reduced to 50p etc. We and the dogs often eat very luxuriously for pennies.

Waitrose is my closest Supermarket;) , but I don't get loads in there.

i say its a place you go with a basket rather than a trolly:D

Do you think if I got a couple of hours work there a week I would get the staff discounts & perks:D

They reduce their lovely bread while its still fresh, I wouldn't buy reduced bread from anywhere else, because they others don't reduce it while its still nice, but Waitrose do.

I hate Tescos with a passion, almost everything I buy there I can buy substantially cheaper elsewhere - even all the wholefoods I buy, I can usually pick up cheaper in our local independant health food shop, they keep drastically altering the prices, so you have no idea how much to budget when shopping there, and they seem to change the layout every few weeks.
Also, the pharmacy in my local store treated my dad very shabbily recently, which I am still irritated about.
Why do I shop there? They have a free bus service. Although I'm getting the bus now down to Aldi in town, even with the 2.60 Stagecoach fare, I'm still saving about a tenner a week :)

I'm tempted to get a job there just for that. The reductions, the discount (12% in Waitrose, 25% in JL - although I don't use my daughter's discount as I wouldn't want to compromise her integrity) - even the uniforms are nice. :rotfl:

    Hi,
i like to pay my monthly shopping budget into my clubcard plus account when I get paid - means double points and I know I am not going to run out of money for food half way through the month.
I also HATE Asda, it is just too big, there is too much choice and I find it really stressful.
But - my weekly shopping has gone up by about £20 lately and I think I might have to shop around a bit more.
