ALWAYS shop at Morrisons, so much cheaper, per KG for meat i found a 50% difference in price, plus you can trust the meat is fresh. Normally get about 2 weeks worth of core food for 35 quid! xx
EDIT : I drive past Sainsburys, Lidl, Tesco and ASDA to get there:A Carpe diem :AOfficial Market Maven

Tesco's is convenient and i like the clubcard points scheme, maybe other supermarkets do it too but i like how they encourage you to recycle by giving green points! Personally i like shopping at tesco.0

No supermarket meat or fish will be as good as that from a decent butcher or fishmonger and in many cases the butcher/fishmonger will be cheaper too!
Same with fruit and veg - a good greengrocer will almost always be cheaper and fresher than the supermarkets. Of course all this assumes you are lucky enough to have a quality butcher/ fishmonger/ greengrocer.
I don't think you should support local shops just because they are local - but if they are good local shops then it's a win win situation - better quality and service at similar or better prices to supermarkets. If only more local shops had opening hours which were more convenient to people who work full time they would win on all 3 counts - quality, price and convenience.
As for brands being cheaper at some supermarkets than at others, that may be so but I can hardly think of anything which I buy by brand (apart from beer and none of the supermarkets sell the one I currently drink) and the occassional bottle of (Heinz) tomato sauce, Worcesershire sauce and (Green & Blacks) cocoa powder - but I only buy one of those perhaps once every 3 months. The majority of shopping is surely meat/ fish / veg / fruit / milk etc, none of which I shop for by brand..."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

I shop at Sainsbury. There is no Asda in my area and Tesco is 2miles away so I go occasionally. You are 48% tight
