    I'm curious...

GF tots up how much we spend at supermarkets. Each time we look it's about 10-15% more expensive (for the same or similar items) at tesco rather than asda.

So why do people continue to shop there? Maybe the range is better? There has to be a reason since lots of people on OS appear to love Mr T's.

    EDIT : typo

I think Tesco's offers great value for money:T and I'm more than happy to shop there. Where I live we have all the major supermarkets fairly close by but still prefer Tesco. Waitrose is very expensive, not very keen on Sainsburys but Morrison's is very good value too.

Why are council house people scum? dont really like the tone of that, little bit insulting .Everyone has to eat, I live in a council house and have shopped at Sainsburys many times without anyone looking down their nose at me,I also shop in Next and M&S at times and have never had a problem, surely my money is as good as anyone elses.I thought this was supposed to be a class less society, obviously not.Do they allow ethnic minorites and different religons in there,or is it just you that puts up these boundries?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well going back to the op i shop there because yesterday i went spent £32 used a £5 NOTW coupon, a £3 till split and £3 of other coupons plus used a 500 point off ink catridges 250 off stationery and 100 point of other stuff. That's why!!!! Also I had a trolley piled high with reduced stuff stuff with yellow stickers and treats for all!! We love it but don't buy veg etc there as it's too dear. You just need to play the system.
  • Like most people I shop at Tescos for the points which I spend on holidays. However yesterday I found another reason to shop there, my Tesco in Clacton have started stocking size 28 in clothing which I have never seen before usually it just goes up to 24.There were several items in 26 and 28 for instance a lovely long top to wear on top of trousers for just £6.

i think theres alot more tescos than asdas, its convenience.
  • I have 4 children and don't drive. The only shopping I can get delivered is Tesco. It works out cheaper for me, as if I send Hubby to Mr A (even with a list), he would spend hours in there, doing his own thing, then getting what he thinks maybe a suitable substitute. Its jut easier all round.:D Though last time I was out when delivery came and my hubby un packed and arranged with the driver to keep the bloomimg crates, till the next delivery, so he could unpack at his leisure
    Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.
    Grocery challenge july £300/£134-85.
  • Shop in Tescos as it's more convenient to get to than asda and tend to save the clubcard points for treats. Also this week used a NOTW voucher on sunday and the girl behind the till gave it back to me after she scanned it and I re-used it yesterday, happy days.
    I hate migraines.

Much smaller, usually more expensive, food tends to be geared towards ready meals and prepared food rather than raw ingredients, much more limited alue range (if any at all).
  • Q: Why do people shop at Tescos?
A: All retailers know, the human shopper is a creature of HABIT. this is why we are constantly bombarded with bogofs and vouchers etc its all to get us to change our habit and shop elsewhere
Its not how far you fall but how high you bounce back that matters
