    Please can you help....

I've purchased a pair of sherling lining boots. Upon receipt of the goods (off the internet) they are fake fur. I phoned customer services immediately and asked for a replacement. I was told none were in stock so I asked if they would refund me the difference between the fake fur and sherling boots as they sell both types. The gentleman agreed and asked me to send photos, etc.
I've had the boots a week now and have just received a letter to say I have to return the boots for a full refund now!
As i've now worn them outside (still 99% look new) can I still get a refund or what are my rights?

Your advice is greatly appreciated :D

If they've agreed to a refund you should get one. You shouldn't have worn them really if you intended to replace them. Send the boots back and make sure you get proof of purchase from the Post Office.

Thanks for your response. I was just curious if anyone new what legal rights I might have?

ps. I wore the boots as I was happy to keep them after their CS agreed to give me the £20 back.

i bought a gold pandora charm from peter jacksons the jewellers on the 26th december 09 as its a gold charm they didnt have it in stock so had to order it. they advised me i had to pay for it upfront so i did and was told because of the christmas period it will take two weeks, so i agreed.

i paid £100 in cash and £160 on my debit card now i know i could do a chargeback for my debit card but thats not all of it,
when can i go into the shop and say enoughs enough and want to cancel and get a full refund.

    don

Send a recorded delivery letter to the shop telling them that if the item isn't available to you within 7 days of receipt of the letter you will regard the order as cancelled and demand a refund.

If the shop is part of a group send a copy of the letter to the head office also.

  • Hi. I bought a Ted Baker bag from Ted Baker shop only a few months ago. I purchased this product during October 2009. The material of this is similar to another ted baker bag...

    LINK REMOVED

I have not used that product that much. however, what i have noticed is that the "leather" appears to be coming off...and instead of having a brown bag...it is now brown and "cream" patchy...i.e. parts of the "leather" are "coming off".

The bag does not look used...what can i do? I believe i have spent too much on rubbish. I would like either a replacement or refund...but do i have any leg to stand on?

Also, does any MSE work in Ted Baker in Birmingham (just save me telling the same story again...)

    Thank you

Have you thought of raising the matter with the shop and see what they have to say?

no need to get wound up
go in with your receipt (keep it in your pocket until asked for it) and say you bought this bag on X date and unfortunately theres a fault with it
then wait for their response and see where it goes
if you dont like their response or get flustered then say you will think it over (eg if they dont just offer a replacement) and come back for more advice
