Not sure if this is the right place to ask but can anyone advise me on this?

To cut the story short I ordered a PC online with Dixons on 20/3/08(reason being they were the only retailer with the one I wanted in stock) I paid an extra £10 for Saturday delivery thinking it would be delivered today. After the order went through I found that the Saturday delivery was for next Saturday so I realised that I needn't have paid the extra as normal delivery would have it coming possibly before then. I immediately called CS and was told that they could not ammend my order and that I would have to re-order and that original one would be cancelled. I was assured that no money would be taken from my account but that the money would be 'ringfenced' until the cancellation went through. Today I checked my account and the money for both orders has been taken. Called back, got an apology but "there is nothing we can do as it's already been taken" Explained what I'd been told, was told I had been mis-informed and that the money will be refunded but could take up to 7 days for it to be credited back. Have I any rights here? I can not afford for it to be out of my account and would not have agreed to second purchase if I had known that was the case. Thanks in advance for any advice!

It didn't take them 7 days to get your money and neither should it take 7 days to refund it. Contact them and demand an instant refund. If this fails contact their head office and ask them to resolve the matter for you.

I bought 3 laptops from Dabs at the end of 2006. They've all developed different faults, but obviously I've had them for over 12 months. Do I have any chance of getting them repaired?

In that case write a letter, recorded delivery, to the store you purchased the phone from. tell them the phone is not of merchantable quality and you want a replacement phone or your money back. Tell them that if they don't deal with the complaint satisfactorily within 10 days you will take them to the Small Claims Court.

It was bought online and having spoken the them about it several times, it's clear they have no intention of replacing the handset with another model. They'll only replace with yet another refurb of the same model which will no doubt last a week or so before that has to be replaced again.

If they've updated the ste very recently, you could try googling their web site address and then clicking the Cache link under their listing - this may show the pervious version of the site and then you can write to them illustrating the discepency and informing them you've been missold the phone and they've made a misrepresentation.

In Dec I purchased several cosmetic items to the value of $59 from www.cosmetictimes.com, an american online company I had used before. Three months later and I'm still waiting for them to arrive! I have sent several e-mails to the company asking them to either explain what the problem is or refund my credit card but, surprise surprise, I have had no reply. I know this may seem petty but £30 is £30 and I hate getting ripped off! Does anyone have any ideas how I can persue this further in the US.

    Cheers

There's really nothing you can do. Your credit card company won't help as the goods were under £100 and no court has any jurisdiction over companies trading abroad. It wouldn't be economically viable to attempt to use a US court.

If you felt like it you could email the consumer protection department for the State where the company is trading and see if they know anything about the company.

Sorry to have to say it but I think you have lost your money.

After complaining Sony repaired my faulty camera even though it was out of the 12 month guarantee period.

3 months and 3 weeks later, the same fault has re-occurred. They are refusing to do anything about it as it is outside of the 3 month repair warranty.

Do I have any further options ? Thank you.

Your only recourse is to go to the Small Claims Court.
