Afternoon everyone!! Sorry I haven't been around recently, I wasn't very well and got carted off to hospital yesterday. Never mind, back now and it's all systems go. I even managed some shopping today at Tesco and managed to reduce my 85 pound shopping bill to 65 which I was very happy with and also got nearly 500 clubcard points too
The house is a bit of a mess, DD2 wasn't well today so I've been nursing her all day but she now seems back to her normal self so hopefull I can concentrate on cleaning the house tomorrow. DH is playing in Monmouth tonight so I am hoping the weather stays good for him to travel tonight.
Hugs to everyone who needs them. I think I'll just get on with some knitting tonight.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hello everyone
I've been a lazy moo today...house is in squalor as usual (I live alone but I suspect someone sneaks in and messes the place up when I am out)... Didn't get up until gone noon, but have had a return of sleepless nights during the week, so I was genuinely tired. I have however managed to do a load of washing, gone for a nice walk and had a shopping expedition for a fleece for my mother. She wants a brown one, which is the only colour they are not available in. I found one on the net by Barbour with a Barbour price tag on it. Think I will get it anyway, it should last a long long time and it will be very good quality.
I've got yet more essays to write, grrr! Both due in before Christmas with absolutely no extensions available for them so I'll have to crack on with those for the remainder of the weekend. Though I will squeeze in some fudge making (gifts for some ex-colleagues) and will make myself a pizza too.
Caterina, you sounded yesterday like you're practically pulling your hair out with so many frustrations. TBH if your job is not making you happy and you can rearrange your habits/finances so that you can still live well, then why bother with it...there is enough stress in life without a cr*p job on top of it everything else.
VickyA, lucky you having a choice of Ikeas to go to! I have to cross the Irish sea to get to my closest one, which really is a bit extreme if what I want isn't in stock!
Moggins, sorry to hear you were unwell yesterday, hope it's sorted and you're well and happy.0 -

Hi Everyone,
Just thought I'd say hi, as I've not posted for a while. Weather has been pretty clear in hereford today. I even took the car out for a bit (not really used it much since passing my test, being OS I dont want to waste the petrol!) and was the driver while me & OH had a drink in the pub (mine was an orange juice).
Had a use up whats in the freezer day, and had fish and chips for lunch, followed by HM choc cake with butter icing. Also been busy putting some stuff for sale on ebay, and trying to sort out the house.
Went to Blockbusters today to get out Mr & Mrs Smith with my free voucher from ipoints but did not have any in stock. Bloke serving was reluctant to do their free dvd rental thing if the 1 you want is out if stock, but mangaged to get him to do it. Said that Blockbusters were phasing it out? In the end we got Charlie & the Choc Factory out.
Its noce to catch up with everyone, even though I seem to ramble on. have a good weekend all.A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
Had a pretty good OS day today - no work
Had a nice lie in - then dropped OH at work and went off to Tescos - was in there far too long - 1 1/2 hours, and nearly an hour of that was in the clothes - oops. Mind you got a pair of cords, a jumper, 3 pairs of knee high socks and two pairs of pretty knee high tights for just under £20 - down from nearly £34 :money: 20% off so came to £26ish then used £5 off when you spend £25 or more from registering on their website :j really need some new casual trousers as my cords and jeans are all too big right now
Then went downstairs in tesco and got a couple of things for OH for his birthday some wrap, a magazine and a couple of food things to top us up and managed to save about £5 with coupons, also used free bag of life coupon and as bags for life are on bogof got 2 free - useful for transporting Christmas pressies around in- got 150 extra points but only noticed when I got home that the 125 extra points on caburys share boxes (only cost £2.49 so was worth it for the deals) had come off as £1.25 - phoned tesco and apparently it's a known problem and when the vouchers arrive at head office the points will be added to people's accounts - so obviously a bit of a problem for people who swap coupons with their clubcard number on
.
Came home and wrapped up OH's pressies then went and collected him and went to the designer outlet - had a drink and bought a few craft bits in the paper shop and some instant tea and hot chocolate on offer in whittards
Came home and made a sausage casserole - first time I've tried from stratch and was nice - but a bit tomatoey - but trial and error is the key to home cooking. Had it with mashed spud and veggies too.
Must go get some washing to put on now
PP - hope daughters ok about her hamster - glad I was never really a pet person when I was little.
VickyA - hope Ikea was good - I love it too - almost everything in our flat is from Ikea - OH parents influences. Know exactly what you mean about Tescos - ours was the same today - stockpiled trolleys and screaming kids and parents

Then she went to bed with another DVD and is now sound asleep...but im keeping one ear out for her as its the first time shes slept here. Meanwhile though i have managed to just make 20+ mince pies and 20 fairy cakes! :j Thats ontop of the apple pies i made last night and a victoria sponge that didnt go to wellSaturday night baking and watching kiddie DVDS... how rock and roll eh?! :rotfl:
Just relaxing for a bit before i head off to bed myself.. bound to be an early start tomorrow.. hoping i can convince my dad to take me to B&Q and pick up my christmas tree! BUT depends on what they are like whether i get one or not.. but shhh dont tell him! :rotfl: Really want a real one this year and worried it wont last till new year if i get it now.
Barclaycard statment arrived this morning.. im in credit with them for the second month on the go :j Its only 85p.. but its still credit!Just wish i didnt have about £1000 debt on my other card which kinda counter-acts that!
Oh and i went over my grocery target todayBut this month i have had to unexpectedly fill my freezer after losing £20+ worth of stuff plus found loads of "reduced" bargains i had to grab for the freezer! Like today.. 8 hovis wholemeal barms.. down from 85p to 42p! Go lovely with soup.. Also got 6 free-range eggs - down from 88p to 22p! :j
Ooh and ebay sales - with 7 days left are up to £3.74..so im in profit even after paying my fees! :j Got a few watchers too which im made up with cos i didnt expect any of it to sell.
Anyway i rambled on loads... night night everyone sweet dreams! xxx0 -
Morning All
Only got about 3hrs kip last night, my spine is really playing up and think I overdid it big time the last 2 days.
Picked DD up from party and she was fine about the hamster-thank goodness..LOL. Pleased with our choice of Gerbil too, plus she had a great sleep over and party too
Our late lunch out was beautiful. I had lamb shank on bed of creamed mash with fresh winter veg. OH & his brother had a huge mixed grill with chips, and SIL had a posh hot spicy sausage in baguette with chips. The prices were very reasonable and food fantastic! We paid for a couple of rounds and after meal coffees and think we spent just under £20, plus a great afternoon outWe were there 3hrs and just catching up with all the gossip etc.
1 washload already done and another to go. DW still half empty, but house clean and tidy. OH needs to make some more pizza dough in BM as he has run out of pizza bases
Its very cold and wet here this morning, but no snow as of yet!
Breakie today is bacon baguette, lunch is soup or toastied sarnie and dinner is Roast chicken breast, HM yorkies, Roast spuds, cauli, carrots, parsnips and gravy
Will catch up later.
Penny-Pincher!!

Morning.
My kids (well, ok, the younger 2) are up watching a rudolph DVD. It keeps the quiet for an hour - then I'll send them upstairs to wake the elder two!!!!!
Went to bed late last night - trying to do some transcribing for a customer and want to get it finished before I start this job - because I am stopping the self employed stuff then. I actually only have 3 regular clients and one of them I am going permament with.
Problem to the transcribing it that its 8 hours worth and its generally known you can speak 4 times faster than you can type. So it could take up to 32 hours to transcribe
Today is breakie - Poached Egg on toast, Lunch will be wrapped tortillas with ham and salad, and dinner will be roast chicken.
And going to try pureeing some suede or parsnip today to put into the mash potatoe to see if anyone notices !lol :rotfl:
Off to check my meal planner then we are also off to Tescos later. Oh the joy of supermarket shopping in the run up weeks to Christmas.
Hope everyone has a nice day!0
