Stair/hallway carpet was fitted yesterday and looks lovely. Apparently, it wont wear for about 30yrs  All I have to do now is wait for the stairlift to be fitted
Ive got my Warfarin clinic this morning but really dont want to go out in the cold, so will see how I am about 8-if I dont go today it will have to be tomorrow so probably will just get it over and done with today.

morning everyone
i had the most non OS day i have had in three months yesterday - and while i quite enjoyed the christmas shopping i did, the ready made food just didnt fill me up or satisfy me - so its back to OS with lots of enthusiasm today.
today im off to tescos with my latest batch of clubcard vouchers, im going to do a huge shop with lots of bottles included ( gifts ) and other non perishables for christmas - then use my 'double points' voucher. of course i am off to check out the tesco thread on the forum before i set off.
i have the biggest pile of ironing to do - so hopefully ill be back in time to do that while watching fern and phil -
its thanksgiving day for my OH today - so we will just have a quick bowl of soup at lunch time, dinner tonight is turkey with green beans, mashed potatoes, roasted parsnip, red cabbage and cranberries and yummy gravy. of course ive made a pumpkin pie for desert.
ill probably be in the kitchen most of the day - its the warmest place once the oven in on and i need to do a batch of baking for the week ahead too , mincepies, a country peach tart and some cake.
well with all that on my list i think i better get moving - will pop back and see how youre all doing later
hugs to all

Morning all!
Haven't posted in here for a short while! (Cos I fell off the OS wagon and too ashamed........)
But - kind of back of track.
MW is on Tumble is on. Still can't find an over bath airer - they can't be that rare! (Tesco had one last week, but it was very damaged and not fixable)
Kids issues are resolved (well, for now). Housework rota drawn up - only since Sunday and the big girls have just gone off to school without doing their jobs this am!
Sat up last night trying to make Decembers budget work. Changing from self employed to permenant staff on 1st Dec - but it means I get paid monthly and not weekly. Was only given a months notice and December is not the best of times to suddenly change!
Mananged to save a meagre amount of cash for it in Nov and for Dec, we must tighten the belts food wise too. I managed Nov to spend £335 for 5 weeks for a family of 6. In December I've only got £230  - so decided the kids are too fat and we are not eating Wednesdays and Sundays to save money :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I made a chicken pie on Monday! My first one ever! It was not that nice..... the dish was too deep and the juice too watery. But learning as I go.
Quick question. Jam tarts - should I put the jam in the uncooked pastry cups and cook them all together, or cook the pastry cups on their own? And should I put some sugar in the pastry?
Hope everyone has a great day today! :j0 -
Good morning all -
Fingers crossed for your interview N9eav :T
JW - I could do with a wardrobe like that - I've got built in ones that are hopeless!
Damp and foggy here this morning - went to bed at 8pm last night, had such a painfull bout of siatica I could hardly move.....put the electric blanket on and watched a dvd....was a lovely way to relax and we both had a really good nights sleep.
Working this afternoon so lots to do this morning - I scrubbed one of my kitchen blinds in the bath yesterday evening with some hot water and soda crystals...it came up like new so aim to get the other 2 done today, had an hours declutter on the shelves and top of the freezer too - amazing what stuff ends up there.
I've gone right off food this week so my meal plan seems to have gone a bit astray, was supposed to be spag bol tonight but no one fancies it so sausage and mash it is! BM hasn't been used in a week so will put it through it's paces later and WM and TD are in full swing as we speak. I've decided to stop using the DW for a bit to see if it makes my life a bit easier - I think it takes less time to wash, dry and put away by hand than it does to even load the DW sometimes, let alone unload and wash those couple of bits it's missed.
Right my bath's ready so must go make an effort to start the day!

Hi everyone
Nice to see you popping in again too, Queenie :j
Today I will mostly be trying to make a start on the dining room (events conspired against me yesterday) as well as going into town to do a mystery shopping job. Will have to call into Aldi/Lidl on the way past (would be a shame not too) Need some bits that I couldn't get at Tesco the other day - now that's a bit of a turn round, isn't it
Put the BM on overnight, but was so tired I misread the clock as 11pm when it was 5 to 12, so it only finished at 8am not 7I was madly waving slices of hot bread around this morning, trying to get DS1's butties done. At least my new knife cuts hot bread.
Will do chicken in a mushroom sauce for tea, probably rice, and steamed veg. Lunch will be soup I think and just finished my porridge.
Ok off to surf, and massage my knee (arthritis I thinkI just hope i don't get as bad as my mum, that would be dreadful)
Have a good day all and hope the interview goes well N9eav.

Yes to adding the jam to the uncooked pastry cups.
Sugar is optional but I always add a small amount to pastry for sweet thingsHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
