  • Morning!

Been waiting for it too start!!! LOL.

Heavy fog here this morning. Our fire alarms went off for 5 seconds early this morning and dont know why  they are cleaned regularly and are mains not battery operated-so will ring the HA up today and ask for them to be checked.

Not a good night again. Havent enough dirty clothes to put a washload on :D DW not full yet-probably about lunch time. House is pretty clean/tidy. OH swept and washed floors yesterday.

Have our stair carpet being fitted this afternoon and grocery delivery this evening (using a £15 voucher). Also have my pschotherapy at 1pm. Busy day here today

Breakie is cereal/toast. Lunch will be a jacket spud with tuna mayo-HM pizza for OH. Dinner will be HM toad in hole, roasties and veg (one of dd's favs).

Will catch up later. Have a good day.

    Morning Again

I've actually had 51/2 hours of unbroken sleep :T I wrangled DD1 (3) into a nappy last night and she slept through. I knowits probably not the thing to do seeing as she has been out of them for AGES but I cant deal with any more wet beds just now.

Driving lesson this morningin the fog - eeekkk. Am hoping it will start to clear soonish. Major clearing out of kitchen cupboards today in preparation for the mammoth shop arriving tomorrow.

Am SO desparate to do well for the dec challenge, mine starts tomorrow. I'm going to be really anal about it this month and write down EVERYTHING I buy, cost and quantity to get a better all round idea of where to cut back. I want to put all my PMS money aside in the new year toward something really nice. I dont know what yet  but I will try harder if I have something to aim towards.

Right, off to have a :coffee: and read through yesterdays threads before starting on the laundry mountain

    Have a good day,
    Al.

    Hiya everyone

DS1 just packed off to school -wearing a silly 'jesters' fleecy hat :D At least I'll find him this afternoon :)

My back is playing up this morning - don't know why cos IO never got round to starting decorating yesterday and Mr TM wasn't around last night to help me move the wall units and will be late home tonight too :( I'll still see what I can do round them though - I just love the preparation, don't you ?

Have a mystery shopping job this afternoon so will use the 'free petrol and parking' to go to the bank and return something to Argos. Will probably just do jackst spuds and assorted fillings for tea, soup and/or leftovers for lunch.

Need to put BM and dishy on soon. I have to say, I don't like Carrs wholemeal flour - my bread doesn't rise like it does with Tesco's OB wholemeal. Maybe I need more yeast? I also ned to put WM and TD on today too.

Ok, off for a surf with my :coffee: then into the shower and on with the day.

Have a good 'un, all :D

  • Morning :hello:

Fog's lifted a lot - it was thick and heavy this morning but now from my office window I'm able to see the Gherkin and Tower 42 again. Still too much mist for me to see as far as Carary Wharf which is usually well within view. Train was ON TIME this morning! I know that shouldn't be a surprise but they've been awful lately.

Going to see Harry Potter tonight - I think - but not sure where, as even though there are loads of cinemas in London, there seem to be very few options for seeing it at a reasonable start time:confused: Maybe they're aiming for kids to go to the 4:30/5:30 screenings, so the adult audiences get a bit more peace by having 8pm screenings more or less to themselves? I would see it at my local but that is not convenient for BF - I live on the Kent border and he lives way out in Surrey - and it's him that has the Orange phone for the Wednesday BOGOF deal...

(BF is soon to be moving into Central London which will solve soooo many of these issues!)

Had to rethink last night's dinner plans cos I got home and realised I'd taken something completely different out of the freezer from what I thought I had! So it was a mince/veg/pasta concoction cooked from scratch, rather than reheated curry and rice. Last night's leftovers are in the box for today's lunch

ancasta - I've probably cross-posted with you by now cos I've taken so long to write this, but was the gig any good? Also did you take my advice about researching your wedding lingerie when you got paid on Monday?

    Catch y'all later

  • Morning all,

Gosh its so bitterly cold here today could hardly breath when walking to nursery due to the wind but the kids are really excited due to the pending snow, I on the other hand are NOT.

O/H has offered to take DS(14) and his mates to see harry potter tonight after school but I think it just an excuse so he can watch it himself, at least its cheap night weds at our cinema.

Lunch is hearty soup with rolls and dinner tonight is chicken curry and rice with maybe a few chips if I'm feeling naughty.

Have loads of bits of jobs to do today if I can get motivated. Thinks will just have another cuppa before I start!

    Have a good day

  • Morning all,

Been very busy, I've done loads of housework and I actually quite enjoyed it :shhh: don't tell OH he might expect me to do it again!

Pasta bake is all ready for tonight, dough for garlic bread is in the BM, I'm off now to collect little DD from Nursery and then we're going to collect firewood.

Big thanks to whoever posted that you could use ordinary flour in the BM, I made rolls yesterday using somerfields basics self raising because it was all I had left and OH said they were the best yet! :D

Hope you all have a good day,

Now have two daughters feeling poorly with a bad cold!

They are in the living room with a "nest" on the sofa watching t.v. - made them drinks and a bacon and cheese omelet and came through to spend some time on here.

Dishes are in Dwashy - DH is painting the hall - and I am trying to wake myself up by slurping coffee.

Went to Primark yesterday and got 3 jumpers and beige cord trousers and pack of knickers for £24 :j

Really pleased - have not dared try on trousers yet!

Strange without Queenie and Curry Queen - regards to them if they pop in.

At last the antibiotics are kicking in and I am beginning to feel a little more human, its a clear day so may go to Tesco this afternoon to do my shopping, on the other hand might just leave it till Friday. OH is off to get some wood to re enforce the door of the shed, and another couple of bits he wants, its over 60's day, so gets a discount...

Nothing planned, have to raid the freezer for tonights supper, might be fish and chips, oooohhhhh errrrr chips twice in one week...... well perhaps just this once it will not matter.

OH was on to the council yesterday, we applied for a one bedroom flat in a small complex near where we live,12 months ago, we had heard nothing, apparently its very unusual but there has been no movement, but they have one flat which they think might become vacant in the new year and as we are very near the top of the list because of the problem my husband has with his arthritis in his feet, its just possible we might hear something to our advantage, as they say, so thats good news, but I will beieve it when it happens....... massive boot sale or some such coming up, may be an everything must go sale........we will be a lot better off financially and also beacuse its in a complex with a warden there is help if you need it.......we rent through the private sector and rents are not cheap!!!!! No gas bills to pay, just elecrtic, heating is included in your rent, and a laundry so no washer or dryer needed...still close to Tesco, can walk to shop and the Docs is just over the road, buses to town stop right outside, a cheap trip when the free travel comes in next April, will be able to use the town market which is much better than the little one we have up the road.

    Morning all

Working today - 2 little one's fast asleep - I've made a coffee and having 10 mins peace before starting lunch. Had another childminder here this morning and we've been doing "christmas craft" was good fun, they all got very messy and very sticky and covered in glitter and cotton wool...lots of giggles all round.

Lunch will be scrambled egg and toasted french rolls with some fruit. Dinner tonight will be fish and chips from the chippy - got 6 kids after school until 5.45pm so just a jolly good excuse not to cook! :D

DD's got a sleep over this weekend for her birtday, need to get the sleeping bags out and give them a wash to freshen them up and make sure I've got plenty of stuff in for pizzas which they've all requested as "my mummy makes the bestest pizza's in the world"...lets hope they all think so too!!!!

Hope you all have a lovely day - I'm praying for snow down here --- I loooooove snow!!
