Got stuffed mushrooms for tea. mmmmm

What are you stuffing them with?

I've got a load of portobello mushrooms to use up so could use some inspiration on what to stuff some of them with ;)

    Evening all,

Had a lovely morning - had a bit of a lie in, postman brought my "money diet" book so DH realised he'd better get up and make me breakfast in bed and have a bath while I started reading ;) I got to page 97 before I felt guilty and got up! Went off to a local craft fair (which I was supposed to be doing but they'd over booked the tables!!) Didn't actually buy anything but gave DH and DD's time to fly DH's birthday remote control plane in the field next door.

Dropped DD's at mothers and went off to town, got freebies from boots (i love those machines) and some baskets and magazine holders reduced in homebase, popped into Lidl but they didn't have everything I needed so had to pop to morrisons too.

DH is now lying prone on the sofa with a bad back whilst DD's are eating the most non OS style food going (turkey dinosaurs and alphabites) whilst watching a dvd. Every now and then they ask for food like that and I give in - once in a blue moon wont hurt them or me!

Tomorrow is move the furniture in the bedroom day - will only take about half an hour as I've stripped it of everything and cleaned behind and under all the stuff I could. I ended up with 4 sacks of rubbish (where does it all come from????) and 3 sacks of bedding and clothes to take to the recycling bank (which we did earlier).

Tonights dinner for me and DH is a chicken, bacon, courgette and cheese lasagne and tomorrow will be toad in the hole with roasties and veg.

Hope you've all had a great weekend - roll on the next one!!

Edited to say : Forgot to say - Found an old leather jacket of mine in the depths of my wardrobe - hadn't worn it for a couple of years and it desperatly needed cleaning (it's got a fluffy hood that looked a bit manky) so I tossed up - Do I shove it in the chairty bag - or do I get it cleaned or do I stick it in the wash.................so I shoved it in the wash on a 30degree cycle - it's come out as good as new - loads more life in it and no dry cleaning expense!!! :T :T

CQ - I love my mushrooms stuffed with a mixture of rice, spring onion/onion, tomatoes, mushroom bits, fried off in some butter and other flavourings ie balsamic vinegar. Stuff mushies, top with cheese if you want and put in oven to cook through.

Well, today I delivered my pram but had to come home straight away as Mr TM had to go out. Managed to stop at Dunelm and buy another 2lb loaf tin - my total spend for today, but Mr TM found a continental market so has bought yet more camembert (we still have one in fridge and at least one in freezer from hols

Made a 'hash pie' for tea - basically corned beef hash made with sliced potatoes but in a pastry crust. It looked like a Beano "Cow Pie" in the oven :D Really high, with leaves on it and I treated myself to an egg wash so it looked fab. Had it with lots of pickles as no mushy peas in (which is what we all fancied) Have a rice pud in the oven so will adjourn to eat that in a minute. Also dried off lots of breadcrumbs while the oven was on too.

Am off to watch 'Come Dancing' in a while. Am already on my 2nd glass of wine (as I stop drinking about 8-9pm so am sober tomorrow :D) so already told Mr TM 'how many beans make 5' Well, actually I actually asked him if he'd bought a lottery ticket, and then said if he won, we could have half each and he could bu&&er off  and all this in front of our friend :) Trouble is, I mean it at the moment. Fed up of lazy selfish men - sorry - man :(

Anyway, not going to depress you all with my woes. Looking forward to a night in front of the tv. Refuse to do any jobs tonight, so will veg in bed after boys are asleep and watch what I want. (Mr TM will undoubtedly come back langered again tonight)

Ah, what bliss it is in the house of mouse at the moment :D

    Luv
    TM

Snap!!! I'm on my second glass of wine too, but might have to be my last as DS has just come home (was spending the weekend at his mates) as he forgot to take his footie kit with him and he's got a match first thing tomorrow

Think the stuffed mushrooms will have to wait now though as he doesn't like them so I'm going to knock up a quick chinese stir-fry sort of thing (cheating using a jar sauce) and send him downstairs to get some egg-fried rice from the chippy to go with it :D

So much for kicking back with a bottle of wine while I  over James Martin strutting his stuff!

Had a strange day - saw Dd off to play at friend thinking that I could start to wrap some Christmas presents while she was out.

About 30 mins later she was back - had bad headache and felt sick - got her tucked into bed and she slept for several hours and now feels better.

Other daughter has just texted her sister to say she has tonsillitis! She saw GP a couple of days ago who said she had a virus and nothing can be done - today she felt so bad she went to hospial and they told her she had tonsillitis.!

Managed to wrap some presents anyway and sent letter to cosmetics direct about the parcel which has still not arrived - payment has been taken though!

Hi everyone, had an extremely unmoneysaving day today. Went and paid for some flooring and tiling I had done...just over £1,000 (ouch!!), then went and got my lovely new kitten. He's called Dylan, and he's white with a black ear, black eye, black nose and black tail - he's so cute! I donated £20 for him, then went to buy a big bag of food for him ... £10. Ugh! All that lovely money gone!! My other kittie Tabitha cost me over £100 in vet bills over the past couple of days for tablets and blood tests. But they are worth it of course.

Otherwise, I am not being a good MSE member at all. Food has been mainly breakfast cereal...really can't be bothered to make anything these days.

I've still got my essay to write...so will attempt that tonight. Was supposed to do it last week, but I am fantastic at procrastination.

Elona, hope your daughers make speedy recoveries. CQ, glad you're back, enjoy your wine! Think I might join you a wee bit later for a glass or two.
PP, please don't be too upset about your wee dog. The people who have taken him sound fabulous - and you know where he is and you can go and see that he is OK. Dogs are so adaptable - he'll miss you of course, but he'll be fine as he'll be looked after well.

    Bye everyone.

So much for kicking back with a bottle of wine while I  over James Martin strutting his stuff!

It's Ok, CQ, I had my second glass of wine, along with 2 bowls of HM rice pud, and drooled over James (on your behalf, of course ) My house guest can't see what we women see in him and thinks Will is who we should be lusting over  Erm, thanks, but no thanks.

Well ... I'm suitably cheered up having watched my lovely James waltzing the boards with <spit> the lovely Camilla ;)

I have to ask though, am I the only one to find this guy incredibly sexy and attractive??? :o

The fact he's also a brilliant chef obviously plays no part in this

But ... if he asked me to marry him I certainly wouldn't say no ... and yeah, I know I can dream on

Well, between making my tv remote red hot by constantly switching between Strictly Come Dancing and X-Factor (why can't they off-set the screenings!) I've so far managed to chop some onions, peppers and mushrooms for dinner but not attempted to actually cook any of yet, and Casualty is due to start soon  ... damn my son for coming home and spoiling my Saturday night routine

I'd have been quite content in having a slice of toast and jam for dinner ;)

Ohhhh thank the gods someone else likes him too! :D

And no, Will don't do it for me either

Oh and did I mention I'm on my 3rd glass of wine :D ... DS will just have to learn that if he decides to encroach on "mummy time" then I'm not going to stop what I'm doing just for him ;)

He's in his room playing PC/PS2 anyway, shouting out the cursory comment about my "loud" comments over various contestants on SCD and X-F :D

And yes, I agree with Simon that Nicholas sounded crap tonight :rotfl:

PP...So sorry to hear about your pooch :( We had to give ours away when we finally got a council flat when I was little and it was devastating. If she hasn't already decided on a pet, gerbils are much easier to handle than hamsters. If she has a vivarium(plastic aquarium) and you 1/2 fill it with peat or sawdust, they are very easy to keep clean as they dont need constant cleaning out (once a month is fine).

We went to collect a knitting machine for me this morning. Not new but okay order(needed a good clean and some needles straightened) but I am happy as it was a bargain. Managed to get lost even though we used to cycle through that area to work 17 years ago (its all changed).
Found out from a neighbour that someone has been walking through our garden and theirs. The police were not interested as usual. They will probably wait until something is stolen and then say nobody told them about the intruder and why not!
We had fish and chips for tea for a treat.
